The Best Caller ID Units On The Market Today
I have owned two of the 9-inch Telnote Caller ID units for several years, and they have provided me with years of trouble-free service. When I saw this 14-inch model, which is able to show longer caller names,I purchased one for my home-office. It looks great. It works perfectly. My only suggestion would be that the manufacturer upgrade the unitso that this RED LED 14 inch model will also show the caller ID forCall Waiting. Currently, only their BLUE LED 9 inch model showscaller ID for Call Waiting. That's not a big deal, though. These Caller ID units are bigger and brighter and clearer than 99% of thecompetition on the market today, which use the inferior "LCD" technologywith a back-lit screen. This bright LED technology makes the Caller IDvisible from across the room... and the letters are huge at about8/10ths of an inch tall.Be careful when you are unpacking it to note that your additionalface-plates are hidden under the main packaging area in a kind ofsecret-compartment that is very easy to overlook and accidentaly discard.Take all the packaging material completely out of the box to besure that you retrieve those well-hidden extra faceplates, before discarding the box.

Not readable
Each display stays up for about a second. That is not long enough for me to read. The third display is the "Name", but I have to wait several times around to know who is calling. Even if the display could be held static, the "Time" is not recognizable as the time. It is displayed by numbers separated by dashes instead of full-colons. I can not distinguish the time from the date when it flies by. Also, the 25 entry log is almost impossible to use. You can scroll down through the entries, but if you stop on one, the display quickly resorts out of the log mode, and goes to the default with a display some numbers (which is the time). And you have to start all over again from the top. I bought this for my 95 year old mother-in-law. Needless to say: She can not use it. And neither can I !!!

Great for poor eyesight!
This is a nice large character display that works well and can be seen across the room! The only reason I didn't rate it a "5" is that the character color is RED which is harsh. My old one was blue and much easier on the eyes. But it works well and does the trick as it can be seen easily from 30 feet away!

This sucker is HUGE!
I knew it would be big, just wasn't expecting it to be this big... Have it on the kitchen counter and can read it all the way across the other side of the living room, (which is the whole point of course...) Bought this for my elderly Dad, figured it was idiot proof.Does what it's supposed to do. Price is WAY overpriced... this is nothing special over your run of the mill caller ID or digital clock except for the size... They are able to charge what they do because no one else is selling the same thing... Shame on them!

Okay while it lasted.
It was a bit of a hassle to use. Didn't like holding down the clear button, and having to wait a couple of seconds, until the count was reset. Eventually, I let it increment to its maximum number of calls (50), stopped clearing it, and learned to ignore the count.Since I used it to see who was calling while I was home, I didn't need it to keep track of who called. Besides, my phone already did that, so it was redundant. It would be nice to have a setting that allowed it to only display calls without keeping a log.The previous paragraphs refer to the past because, after about eighteen months, the numbers started fading to the point of being unreadable. Eleven o'clock became one o'clock, etc. Given the price I paid ($79), I think it should have lasted longer. Given its current price (a third higher), I would never buy another one.

Just what I wanted, but pricey
The title says it all. It does just what it promises and it does it well. The only negitives is that it seemed a little exspencive for a caller ID box. They seem to be the only game in town when it comes to extra large print deplay. I'm sure this is why you pay a little extra.

What I dislike about this caller ID !
I was upset because this caller ID do not display the date like other ones we have in the house ! !second, we have on our phone system whereas if some one leaves a message there should be a red lightthat blink letting us know we have incoming message. this caller ID don't have that feature.
