a great way to add some visual entertainment to a banquet function
The media could not be loaded. Saberage is an interesting technique that I had originally heard about years ago when I was a fine dining server. I never worked that kind of job long enough to take it to the next level where you are literally a performer. Still, i always like to learn anything in relation to history and until recently did not realize the technique was originated within a Napoleonic context. Everyone knows the conquering spirit and mentality of Napoleon within the French Revolution so it would make sense that this act of sabering a champagne bottle would of originated in that kind of socioeconomic climate. I can easily picture Napoleons men sabering a bottle of champagne in a moment of triumph and therefore stumbling upon a neat trick or artform- however you view it. I personally think this act is an artform because of the way the end of the bottle completely is severed off. Originally i though when you sabered a bottle the cork just popped off. I had even seen this done from a distance two times before but never realized the glass breaks off. I am excited to say I now can try the act myself in the comfort of my own home before attempting to entertain with it. With this super nice champagne saber from the Resafy brand i have found a visually appealing saber that is the perfect size. I actually think it looks much neater when the saberage is preformed with a smaller saber rather than a super long one. I find it a bit ridiculous to use one that is so long it wobble as you brandish it. I think this saber from Resafy feels perfect in my hand and when I preform the sabering motion I feel like a champ. I like the gold tasseled end piece that just adds to the flare and also looks great with the gold and black handle. I like the pattern that appears travelling down the length of the blade. I say blade to indicate the main part of the saber, though this blade is dull. You actually use the dull end of the thing when executing the maneuver which makes sense because it then acts like a hammer. The physics of this is not hard to understand with chilling the bottle upside down being an essential part of the task. This requirement of the chilled part of the bottle being sabered is inductive reasoning with it working just like it appears to. I found that taking the tassel off works better for me. Included with this is a nice wooden display box along with a neat gold trimmed letter in a fancy envelope that has direction for the act of saberage. In conclusion i am very satisfied with this champagne experience enhancer and recommend it.

Arrived damaged, scratched, and looked used
Was really excited to gift this saber to a friend, but was immediately disappointed to find the product packaging let alone the wood box and saber looking as if it was used and old. Shipping box had no signs of damage, so this is just how the product was sent out for delivery.Product box had tears and visible signs of wear and abrasion. Wooden storage box had noticeable dents and a crack along the entire lid. The hinges for the lid also did not align with the base of the box so that’s just poor product quality in general. Then the saber blade also had scratches in it at various spots.Immediately requested a refund and will not recommend this saber or brand to anybody.

Poorly made
The blade is not secured well to the handle and has significant play. It feels cheap in the hand the way the blade wobbles in the handle.

Fantastic piece of the swordmakers art
This Resafy Champagne Saber with Golden Handle Champagne Knife Sword Champagne Sabre Opener With Gift Case for Wedding Party is exquisite and beautiful, a true piece of the swordmakers art.It is designed not to be used as a weapon, but instead open a champagne bottle in a art of showmanship. Mind you, it is not a toy, it certainly could kill a person, although the edge is not at all sharp- on purpose.Opening a champagne bottle with a saber is called "Saberage", and you would be the hit of the (outdoor) party if you could master it. Get some cheap bottles, some safety goggles, and a safe area to practice- you will need to clean up quite a mess of spilled wine and broken glass. But even if you never used this to open a single bottle it is still wonderful. The presentation case is fantastic, and the sword itself is a work of art. Put the open case near your wine cabinet - it would make a great conversation piece.

Fairly well made and heavy.
Resafy Champagne Saber with Golden Handle Champagne Knife Sword Champagne Sabre Opener With Gift Case for Wedding Party-This saber is nice looking and quite heavy. It certainly has the weight needed to open the champagne. We got this more for decor than we did for a wedding prop. It comes in a nice wooden box that can be used to store the saber. We wanted to display it though we did keep the box for storage in general because it’s a nice wooden crate. It did however arrive with a crack in the top.Pros-Hefty weight and heavy feel. Makes it feel much less like a prop and more like a real saber. (The blade is dull so it would be hard to actually cut anything with this)The packaging and presentation are very well done. I love how it displays in this wooden box when you first open it.They do include instructions on how to hit the champagne bottle correctly so that it just takes off the top of the bottle.I don’t have much to compare it to but the price point seems fair for the quality. It is a fairly safe product again due to the intentionally dull blade.Cons-It did come with a crack in the wooden box. Not the end of the world by any means but I wanted to mention it.All in all, I like this saber. I don’t know how much use it will get as a champagne opener but we had other intentions regardless. We had been working on a pirate display for Halloween which this was perfect for. Now we have a spot that we were going to hang it up because we enjoy the look.

Very Nice but broken box twice!
This Sabre is very nice but we had to return the first one because the wooden box it comes in was cracked. We repurchased it and the second one was cracked as well.

Beautiful and good feel and weight to the sabre
The look and the weight of the sabre was excellent, the box and it came in is beautiful for display purposes however the tassel was cheaply sewn together.
