If you want to light up a room with an old fixture, this is for you!
Pros: We have older chandeliers that needed something new over the previous incandescent bulbs. This new LED bulbs are SO much better and provide great light for our bar and event spaces! They fill the room with light and bring new life to our old light fixtures. Our customers at our business always comment about how great the fixtures help present our space in a 'better light'! These are fantastic in dining areas as well.Cons: Wish a bit more of the bulb was clear rather than the white plastic, but that's a minor complaint.

Pleasing soft effect if controlled by Dimmers
I replaced the 9 incandescent bulbs in my dining room chandelier with these bulbs. They give off a nice soft light appropriate for a dining room but also because I have a dimmer to lower the brightness. Full brightness is too much even with only 9 bulbs. My Lutron Maestro MAW-600 couldn't handle the lower wattage with the result that it was impossible to turn off all the bulbs even with the dimmer on-off switch set to off. I ended up buying the Lutron Maestro MRF2-6ND-120 for low voltage conditions. It's also wifi-capable although I'm not using that function. Anyway, this new dimmer worked but was very pricey. I have LED inset ceiling lights on dimmers in almost every room and never had a problem. Just be aware that these and any extremely low wattage LED bulbs might cause a problem if you use a dimmer switch. But with my chandelier and dimmer now working great, I'm super happy and expect to use the dining room table for more reasons now that I won't feel guilty about power consumption.

Great for hard-to-reach lamps. Install these and you shouldn't have to change a bulb for years.
They work nicely and are dimmable. They don't dim quite as much as incandescent bulbs, but they'll do.Some reviewers say no light comes out of the pointed end. Maybe Philips has changed designs, because I don't have that problem at all.One caveat: All dimmers are not the same. Some won't work with LED bulbs. Others work only with very low wattage bulbs. I have a fixture with a ring of six night-light sized bulbs. These seem to conflict and blink while they're being dimmed. If I remove a few of them from the fixture, they don't blink. So obviously it's a limitation of the lamp. Not that the lamp ever gets dimmed in actual use, but since it can be, I wanted to ensure the bulbs didn't burn out if someone tried to do that.

Very good but not perfect replacement for incandescent
Bought these to replace 40v incandescent candelabra bulbs in my dining room lights. Over the years, the heat of the 40v bulbs has started to crack the plastic lightbulb sockets. Time to go LED, both for the electricity savings and to extend the life of the sockets. The color of these bulbs EXACTLY matches the incandescent bulb color at full power. Light output seems similar to the incandescents BUT note that the light is distributed differently. The incandescent bulbs throw light in a roughly 270 degree sphere - everywhere except directly up. This put a lot of light onto the ceiling, which reflects down and fills in shadows. These LED bulbs throw light in a half-sphere, down and to the sides only, not up. You get small shadows on the ceiling and the overall effect is less light in the room. Not really objectionable, particularly if you don't have the incandescents running in a side by side comparison.Dimming works.. sort of . These only dim a little bit from full brightness using my old analog Lutron dimmer. Fine for my application.Overall, I recommend these bulbs. I've had good experience with other Philips LED bulbs, and I expect these will perform as well.

Great dimming in a regular dimmer!
Love these. I have a three-bulb ceiling fixture with a regular dimmer that kept blowing all the incandescent bulbs. I had a lot of trouble finding proper dimmable candelabra bulbs. Many require special dimmers, some buzz annoyingly when they're dim, and some turn off when you dim them to lower settings, so they're only really 75%-100% dimmable. These guys rule. No buzzing, huge dimming range, great color on the 2700k, works great with my old-school dimmer. The only two things that some might not like... when you turn them on and they're dimmed, there's a split second delay to them lighting up. I'm sure I'll get used to it, and it's not a problem at 100% power. It's just different. Also, the light could be a bit harsh if you have them in an exposed location. Mine are behind frosted glass, so the light is evened out a bunch for me.

Outstanding light output with extremely low power consumption. Many uses.
The light output with these 5000K bulbs is amazing for only 4.5 watt consumption. They are much brighter than our conventional 40 watt incandescent bulbs. I use them where we have multiple ceiling recessed light fixtures (with a bulb screw-in converter) common in today's housing. When connected to inexpensive light-controlled on-off switches, these bulbs provide very inexpensive thief deterrent lighting for homes, cabins, etc. For our multiple chandelier use, they cannot be beaten. I delayed this review after purchase to allow review of many monthly power bills using these bulbs in our home & lake cabin. The power bills are substantially reduced, & they will quickly & easily pay for themselves. Most friends are impressed with the light output, but immediately make purchases, themselves, when they see the power consumption bill reductions.

Great for lowering your electric bill
I just moved to a new apartment and the moment my first bill came I was shocked, as my usage behavior hadn't changed and it came to be almost three times what I paid at my old place. Even though my new home is around 200 square feet bigger, I knew something was off. So I did the first thing that came to mind while troubleshooting my apartment and got new bulbs for every socket. My electric bill is now even less than what I paid at my old, smaller apartment. Be sure to purchase the right ones when it comes to color though. The 2700k are the same as incandescents, and I recommend these as the white light on the other model make your living space feel like a hospital.
