We were not sure what to expect but were pleasantly surprised with the quality of these lamps.I broke one of a pair of very expensive and not replaceable ceramic lamps. My wife found these on Amazon and due to the prime return policy knew we could give them a hands on look over without worry.They are perfect in every way for our night stands. Even the size is better than the old ones.The stone portion is solid and true to color from the website. The light socket/switch is standard and easy to reach and operate.The price is right, these will last a very long time.

These lamps are sturdy, and handsome. They are good quality and look even better in person than they do in the photos. They came beautifully packaged, so there was no damage to either lamp.

The overall appearance of these lamps is very good as long as you don't look too close. The multiple colors are muted and look natural. It's a good simulation of stone but is actually a molded (plaster?) material that is painted. On closer inspection there are tiny areas that are unpainted, and to my eye more "lumpiness" to some areas than I would like. The base, which looks like it could be a separate part, is actually molded-in and painted black. The edge of the black area is a bit wavy and looks to be hand painted. From normal viewing distance these details are not obvious, so considering the price I found the lamps to be acceptable.The shade looks correct with the base but a little on the small side. The light that the shade transmits is a bit dim compared to other shades that I had, so I switched them and I thought it was a big improvement. They are slightly bigger and still rectangular in plan view, with angled side surfaces that allow more light to pass. If I didn't have the replacement shades I likely would have returned the lamps and rated them lower.As it stands, these lamps work well in the bedroom where they are not featured or all that visible. I am happy with this purchase after changing the shades, but I can't say that I would recommend them to a friend.
