Pampered Chef Forged Steak Knife Set of 4 with Case

We have used the Pampered Chef steak knives for almost 15 years and when as I write this I realize we haven't even owned another brand of steak knife for as long as I can remember - must be nealy 15 years now. These Pampered Chef knives have been through virtually everything a kitchen knife can be exposed to, under normal circumstances. We don't use them for any purpose other than as knives (not screw drivers or as a tool to pry with) as I am sure some folks must be, based on their reviews. We have cut anything a kitchen knife can be used to cut with, and they have held up as perfectly as any worldly thing made by human hands possibly could. They go into the dishwasher after every use and still look almost new. The hold a sharp edge at least longer than any other knife we have ever owned. And with occasional sharpening they will still cut through even the toughest steak like it was warm butter. I cannot imagine a better product. If you use them as knives, as they were intended, you cannot buy a better knife for the money. And that's a fact.

I love how sharp the knives are. I was told they can't be put in the dishwasher so we don't. My knives are only about 2 months old. They have rust spots on them and the edge of the blades have several pits and divots in them. PC replaced my steak knives because it happened to them the first week. But now all the knives are doing it. I'm going to try and return them.

I loved these knives when I first got them. They were so sharp, you had to be very careful handling them. We use them for our everyday knives, and so they've gone in the dishwasher. This voids the warrantee. They are now dull and pitted. One even has a tip that broke off. I also own Henkels knives that I put in the dishwasher and they've held up well. Pampered Chef told me I must immediately hand wash and dry them, then store them in the case after each use. This is way too much work for a knife that I use every day. Spend your money on a different brand that you can actually live with.
