Great value and excellent quality
This repair kit, despite being made in China, has excellent quality. Since the great majority of the Kitchenaid mixer problem was cause by the wear and tear of the gears so this kit is likely to solve your problem. The greatest challenge is perhaps to find a good instruction video on Youtube. Removing all the gunks/grease is not much fun but that is the extent of the difficulty. The steps afterward is quite straight forward. There are a total of four replacement gears. Use the plier to remove the snap-on ring and remove the top gear on the main shaft. Once done, push out the pin on the shaft to remove the bottom gear. This gear has a super tight fit and can be difficult to remove. I used a large screw driver to leverage against the gear housing to lift it. Once you remove all gears, clean up thoroughly before install the gear back since there may be shredded metal pieces inside the gunk. Overall, this kit is one of my best investment since a new Professional 600 cost nearly $800. I spent about an hour fixing it and the majority of this time is spent removing the grease. Those who gave it less than 3 stars may not fully get the hang of it or simply had bad luck.Considering its price, the deal is unbeatable.

A low-quality replacement
I needed to replace two of the gears in my mixer so I decided to get a whole kit like this just in case the remaining parts were wearing out. The replacement gears were considerably noisier than the original parts and I can't use them. In addition to the noise of running they don't fit together well and there's an audible clicking/clanking noise as if they were slipping somehow. Considering the cost of replacement parts from a reputable repair website my next step is likely to trash the mixer and start new. Saying that I'm disappointed is an understatement.

It functions well, but wear hearing protection
This gear set has run well for a full year of pretty heavy use now. I rebuilt my wife's mixer using these gears and it's held up- but good Lord is it loud. Like tinnitus inducing, have-I-been-hanging-around-the-firing-range-without-my-earplugs kind of loud.I'm not one to snivel if a product isn't absolutely perfect with my pinkie finger stuck up in the air; I'm usually just thrilled that it didn't burst into flames after I laid my grubby mitts on it. In this case I'm impressed that the product was simple enough that a neanderthal like myself could install it, and that it has been durable enough to stand up to the regimen of dough mixing, wheat and meat grinding, whisking, etc that we've thrown at it for the better part of a year.Be ready for the sound though. It's shrill and unpleasant- like the helical gears were cast just far enough out of sync with each other that Orcas are beaching themselves on the far side of the planet to escape that awful noise. Think placing your head inside of a WWII air raid siren while you're chewing tinfoil and undergoing a root canal without sedation. Only not as pleasant. If you need to get your mixer back up and running on the cheap- this is your fix. Just keep reminding yourself how much money you saved as you reach for your Peltor hearing protection each time you flip it on to mix your bread dough.

Good purchase, I was very happy with the quality
I purchased this kit to update some of the parts in my mixer. I didn't use the whole kit but rather found myself using parts from 2 different ones. I used the drive gear (for attachements because I noticed my old one was worn. I also used some of the grease but here again I also used grease from another kit. It really made a difference quieting down the mixer since it was about 40 years old and I had never cleaned out the old grease.

Worked great for us
I bought a KitchenAid mixer online that needed fixed, so I figured out what I needed and this worked great. With a mixer that is used regularly it has held up well. Easy to install.

Not compatible with KSM5, but you cannot tell this from description
The parts all *seem* fine, but I never got to find out. Although the description claims it works for 5 and 6qt mixers, and rufus says it is compatible with model KSM5, it is not.
