Great Quality, Great Value!
This was my 1st Petrified Fish, and it compelled me to buy others since. This PF818 Forward (green Micarta/satin) blew me away by the bang for the buck. The Micarta handles are comfy, fit well, and look great. The D2 satin blade is flawless. It came sharp, well-centered, has good detent, is fairly snappy, and had very little play. The liner lock feels very solid.I've spent far more than this on a knife, and the fit and finish is right up there with the industry leaders. PF is punching well above their weight class and offer a fantastic value. I would definitely recommend this product.

An Affordable High-Quality Knife
The Petrified Fish PF818 is a high-quality knife at a great price. I decided to go with the grey G10 for the handle and a satin finish for the blade itself. The grey looks more of a bluish grey color which looks very good. The knife usesD2 which is great for keeping its edge for a longer amount of time in comparison to other metals that are used. The blade size is not very thick and not thin it is very proportional. I did the paper test, and the blade was able to easily cut through it without any trouble. The flipper action is also very easy to use as it very smooth. The ergonomics are very good as I can easily hold this one with hand without it feeling too large or too small. As a nice touch they included a microfiber cloth and a sticker. I have never owned a Petrified Fish knife before, but this knife looks like it could compete with the much more expensive brands but at an affordable price.

Best value on Amazon right now
I'm super impressed! Great fit and finish, no blade play at all, action is extremely smooth, detents all function as they should, G10 handles have a great, rounded hand feel, liner lock has a cool thumb pad to make it more comfortable to unlock, D2 blade is razor sharp right out of the box. On top of all that, the knife is just beautiful - will make me a nice dresser. It even came in a very nice looking laser-etched cardboard box. Would make an excellent gift, but I'm keeping this one for myself! Don't overlook PF, they are some of the best looking best functioning budget knives coming out now. I like this knife every bit as much as my Civivi Praxis, and at $24 (Prime Day special) it was about half the price. Get one now, I can see PF prices approaching Civivi or Kizer levels in the next few years.

Best money I’ve spent for a blade
This is the best knife purchase I’ve ever made. It has quality of materials and finishing on par with knives 4-5 times the price!! It uses D2 steel for the blade which some people don’t like, they think it’s hard to sharpen and indeed it can be if you don’t have the right tools for the job. Hard steel like D2? Diamond sharpening stones and once you’ve mastered technique? You can sharpen 3 D2 blades in the same time as it takes someone to sharpen 440 on a whetstone 💯 It came out of the box with an excellent edge, but I like all of mine sharp enough to shave with so I ran it a few passes on my 10,000 grit diamond honing stone. I can take see thru slices off a tomato now and the knife doesn’t even slow down. I love the locking mechanism, no frills and locks up tight and is dead reliable. It’s a lightweight knife despite having a little more size and it’s the best balanced knife I own now. It’s smack in the sweet spot of the blade. Chinese or no Chinese, these David Chen blades are finer than anything made anywhere, except maybe the Japanese stuff and would give Benchmade a run for its money on fit a finish and overall build quality. I’m out of adjectives now to extol its virtues so in parting? Buy 3-5 of them NOW before they jack the price up. They’re badly undervalued .

Super Surprised!!!
Okay. I'm going to start this off by saying that I was quite hesitant to purchase this knife. I liked the looks of it, but was very unsure about it's build quality. I'm not going to lie, the manufacturer's name didn't exactly get me all excited, but that is probably from years and years of buying knives from the big name knife makers, which will get you in the poor house in short order. Anyway, after a whole lot of back and forth, and also advisement after watching a video review about this brand and style on YouTube from 704 Gear(704 Tactical), I took the plunge. Boy was I surprised! This knife was carefully and thoughtfully packaged, and shipped very quickly. As soon as it was delivered to my doorstep, I hurried out and gathered up my quarry like a hungry squirrel to a canister of nuts. This blade is incredible! It comes nice and sharp, although I touched it up to my liking. The blade swings out quite smoothly and locks with a very nice, satisfying "click." Trust me when I say, you'll be flipping this thing open and closing it without even thinking about it! The blade is made of D2 tool steel, so it should hold an edge quite well. It has good, but not aggressive jimping, and blade centering is on par with higher end knives. Overall, I have nothing to complain about. If you have been on the fence about buying one of these to add to your collection or edc rotation, take it from me. This is WELL WORTH the money and I doubt that you'll be disappointed.

Review Update! Liked modern design. Knife tip broke off. Defective? Bad steel?
Like modern design. Sharp edge. 1st knife from PF. Had knife since March. Used lightly and expected to last long time. However, knife tip broke off today. Defective? D2 steel not strong? Disappointed. Return ended a few weeks ago. Any warranty Seller? Hopefully they’re reputable company.Review update 6/1/24:I was promptly contacted by Tina from Petrified Fish following my previous review. She quickly addressed my concerns about the knife and sent out a new one without delay. At my request, she provided a different model with a thicker blade. I like this model design (PF-838CS-Pub Satin, Carbon fiber G10) as well as the previous one. Very modern looking. Sharp. Good weight. Fits good in the hand. The handle feels a little edgy, especially with the belt clip. Overall, the knife appears to be off good quality and built.Again, I’m very pleased with Petrified Fish’s commitment to their products. I look forward to using my new knife and will definitely consider this company for future purchases, both for myself and as gifts. I wish them continued success. Thank you again!
