Perfection in a compact package
It does everything an internet radio should do, sounds outstanding considering its compact form factor, and looks cool.I tested the Majority brand for two weeks after purchasing the Bard's sibling, the Quadriga, for a friend's Christmas present. I was so impressed with the Quadriga that I soon purchased a Bard for myself to replace a four year old internet radio that was still functional but showing its age in external wear. I chose the Bard for myself because of its compact size suitable for the limited space where it lives. The Bard sounds excellent considering its size - not as bassy and room filling as the Quadriga but that is to be expected given the difference in size and output power. Otherwise, the two systems are functionally very similar.Internet radio is very important to me because it allows me to stream my taste in music with a minimum of interruptions, distractions, and unwanted "value added" content. Compared with internet radios I have previously owned, (Roberts, Denon, Sony, Ocean Digital, Lemega), the Majority radios are superior. All of the others were seriously flawed in one way or another. The improvement of the Majority products over the others is undoubtedly due in part to the evolution of the technology. But these products are well engineered and notable for their build quality.

Another winner from Majority!
How much do I like this? Its possibly my favourite piece of technology. Compact, well designed, looks fantastic and absolutely brimming with features. I found it extremely easy to set-up using the set-up wizard (very intuitive, but there is a manual), and I had it connected via the Internet in a few minutes. FM and DAB radio connection is also available. Another feature I love, is the ability to run Spotify directly. The sound quality is amazing... I love it!

Great internet radio
Great internet radio. Easy to set up, it automatically takes you through a set up wizard for the core settings when you first switch it on. Connecting to WiFi via WPS was quick and easy, and the connection has been 100% solid over the week I’ve had it so far. Sounds great for the background music I use it for - warm but clear. It can sound a bit muddy if you switch on Loudness, but leaving this off and a tweak with the bass and treble settings has got it perfect. There’s a button on the front that gives you quick access to saved stations. If you need to search for internet stations, the on-screen keyboard is actually surprisingly quick to use with the rotary control on the front, better than I expected. The unit is more compact than I had assumed - which is great as it doesn’t take up much kitchen worktop space - but it sounds bigger than expected.

Versatile value for money with agreeable sound.
Relatively compact, neat case and controls. Fairly intuitive menu that linked easily with my Internet connection and Bluetooth devices. Great to be able to listen to Internet radio stations in my favourite holiday resorts, find podcasts without having to open on my phone and link to a speaker. Wide range of DAB radio stations from telescopic aerial with good reception. Sound quality is generally pleasing but occasionally need to change sound mode depending upon subject matter, speech, music etc. The main speaker is top mounted with additional side mounted speakers and it needs a slightly higher volume setting to project sound into a room particular with speech as in discussion programmes. There is a little intermittent distortion at max volume which is typical of smaller units but my ears are happier if turned down below max. USB input, aux audio and headphone output, unfortunately unable to connect to Bluetooth headphones or earbuds which would be perfection. Comes with a remote control which I haven't used yet but is a sensible size for seeing the buttons. On the whole a pleasing purchase making a useful bedside radio alarm clock or kitchen radio.

Neat & Broad Functionality Music system
I bought the Majority Bard music system to replace a Panasonic Tuner/CD/DAB/Bluetooth system which become defective and made streaming by Bluetooth a very poor affair. The Bard is solidly built with a correspondingly reassuring weight that gives it a sturdy feel when placed and as a result the controls on the face are easy to operate , though the remote control is probably going to be the most used interface for me.Setting-up the Bard is very easy , pretty much plug-and-go , with music available within seconds from all functions.I will be using the Bard as a dining room music system, that readily & swiftly allows guests to stream their own playlists, apart from that most probably I will make plenty of use of the DAB radio for music.I like the 2.4" screen which assists the selection process and provides track information. I am less likely to use the FM or Aux-in modes but it's handy to have them. The FM aerial is neatly stored at the rear of the system and is generally out of view.I am pleased with the sound , which is an improvement on the previous Panasonic unit , it's ideal for the size of the room that I will use it in , and I intend it primarily for background music. There is a good bass element to the sound especially given the size of the system itself. I have seen some comments about the power output rating of 100w , of course sound systems have more than one way of specifying output, all I can say is that the power output for me is absolutely fine .The system is mains-powered only , and again , that is fine for me. I had a Creative Sound-blaster Roar as as a well-built portable/mains Bluetooth speaker, that had good sound but the built-in rechargeable battery failed in less than 24 months , which is very very poor. The Bard has a 3 year warranty (by registration) which is SO much better than Creative offered. All indications are that this system is going to do a good job for me, by being versatile, well built and having a good sound for a small system.
