KentrolBackside License Plate Mount with LED's 80703

This is a great product. I didn't realize until I received it that it has both a third brake light AND a lighted license plate holder. Arrived on time, came as advertised. Instructions were dark but were legible and in good English. Wiring wasn't hard but damn are their wires tiny! I was pleased that I was able to keep my antenna holder as well. Looks good, works well. Lights are VERY bright. Not real sure why my second photo comes out sideways... anyway, this is a solid product and I highly recommend it.

Installed this on my 2013 JKU. I researched several different brands/styles of these for a few days. There were several that I liked but they were either $100 plus or they were missing either the tail light, license plate light or both. This had it all and for a great price. After reading the reviews the first time I was very hesitant to purchase this brand as many stated or posted pictures showing a blue/purple license plate light that was just way to bright. For the price I decided to go with this and replace the LED strip if needed. That was not necessary as the issue with the blue/purple light seems to be fixed. See the image attached, nice white LED license plate light and not extremely bright. Pic was taken in the morning but it is just right at night.***Save yourself a ton of time and uneeded steps. Do not follow the directions included! Search "Jeep Wrangler Kentrol License Plate Install". The YouTube video from CJ Offroad dated Nov 28, 2017. This video does not have you remove the tail light nor the entire back panel. It accesses the wiring from the interior of the Jeep and is so much easier and cleaner!***The install took me about 30 minutes total to complete. Very easy to do. I also had previously mounted an Esky EC170-08 back up camera on the spare. For this mount I trimmed the base plate of the backup camera slightly with snips, then marked off the camera mount holes on the license plate mount between the two lights (see picture). Drilled the holes out and installed with 2 screws and nuts. Very clean look and I can see out of my back window now! I'd also suggest that you bungee the backseat headrests down and flip the rear view mirror as it opens the view up so much more. Buy with confidence!

If you’re looking to remove your fifth wheel all together, this is a perfect choice. This kit come with everything you need to wire the brake light and license plate light.Only thing you’d need to complete the slick rear look is a cap to fill the old LP hole. The brake light is bright as is the license plate light. The license plate light is maybe too bright. It lights up the whole rear of the jeep.Pros:Kits come with everything you need.Easy instructions.Easy to wire.Cons:The wires are thin. Hair thin. Makes it hard to work with at times.Great buy.

This is the first product I've ever purchased from Kentrol. I did some research on them as I wasn't familiar with the company and found out they've been at this for a while. The set is comprised of two main parts with the actual license plate holder containing both the 3rd brake light and license plate light. The powder coat finish is nice and looks like it will stand the test of time. As long as you have the proper tools, installation is pretty straightforward. I suggest watching their install videos on YouTube, which makes the install much more sense as their step-by-step guide is very visual. I've heard people say that their license plate light come out as bluish (almost purplish too?) but my unit emits clean white LED light, which by the way is very bright I might add. Overall, I'm extremely happy with this unit and for the price, it's absolutely underrated for anyone looking to run a clean spare tire delete look for their JK/JKU.

This is a nice install kit if you are looking to remove your tire carrier and relocate your license plate. Everything included and everything works perfectly. I'm not an expert on vehicle wiring but YouTube helped me out and the install went perfect.Only blemish on the product is the quality of the plugs that came with the kit. The plugs are plastic and 1 fell out within a week of installing. I had to order replacement plugs that work much better.

I bought this item because I hated how ugly my tailgate looked without a spare. I totally recommend this product. Great quality, wasn’t too hard to install. I had someone help me but that’s because I was afraid to do the wiring myself, but to be honest it wasn’t hard. The brake light is nice and bright, and the running light is also bright! Definitely cleaned up my tailgate’s look.

Everything went easy enough. The only problem I'm seeing now a month or so after install. The white led lights for license plate keeps wanting to come out of the channel its layed into. And 2 of the light in the strip are out. So it all looks good. Even with the 2 light burnt out it's still very bright. But hese lights should last way past a little over a month. I'm concerned what happens if this continues and have no light at all. How does this light get replaced. So if it wasnt for the issue with the light if give a 5 star. But since this I'm given 3 stars because the issue is potential a difficult replacement and possible risk getting pulled over

Best kit out there if you want an easy install and sleek look. No wires hanging out the back either!Watch the CJ Jeep video on installing because it’s way easier …throw away instructions!
