LG slayer in the house
I have been disappointed time and time again by the newest LG Tones. I have owned three pairs, all of them with great sound quality and super comfortable--but terrible phone call quality and Bluetooth connectivity issues. Twice I have returned them, after exhausting all possible reasons for their poor reliability.People who wear neckband headphones, specifically retractable ones, are often business people like me who are on the phone a lot and want a discreet neckband that they can wear in a work or travel setting. They want to be able to listen to music one minute and close a deal the next. They value superb call quality and comfortable, all day long operation. Their choices have been limited. LG would have been perfect for this. But I couldn't deal with the poor phone call quality. I wanted to love them. So I continued my search.I switched to some off-brand neckband earbuds I picked up on Amazon for 30 bucks and got great connectivity, great phone calls, and extraordinary 17 hour music play time. But they are large and marginally comfortable. I still have them and they work great. But I really wanted something as light and beautiful as the LG Tone. There was nothing out there. Nothing to compete with LG's beauty, quality, and brand power. Until now.The Legato Arc is the LG killer-in-waiting. They are knocking on the door. For Spigen's first try at bat with neckband headphones, they have hit a triple. They are one generation away from a home run. I picked these up immediately and I am impressed.***Call Quality--Is awesome. HD voice capable (depends on carrier). I have never experienced HD sound via Bluetooth before. I was stunned. In my case, the other person you are calling has to share your network (Verizon in my case). Was not expecting this. Bravo Spigen.***Bluetooth connectivity--solid, no real issues. Wear your phone on your hip, pocket, or jacket--still connected solidly. Had some minor hiccups when I buried my phone under layers of my coat and had a heavy collar up around the neckband, but that isn't unusual. Using with the Samsung Galaxy Note 8.***Music quality--Good, but nothing that rocks my world. They are loud enough, but not super-loud. You really don't need them shredding your drums. I am happy with the music.***Controls are minimalist. I like it.***Comfort is superb. Light as a feather***I don't think these are waterproof, not sure about water resistant. I have been working out with them, so no issues yet***Battery life is fantastic for their size.***Beautiful design, very sleek, easy to find/feel buttons.***Earbuds nestle in the ear and are secure, not like the others where you have to secure the bud by jamming it into your ear canal. If they add some different colors, add some better water/sweat resistance, and prove to be durable over the long haul . . . LG is gonna have a fight on it's hands.********UPDATE JUNE 2019*************After about a year and a half of excellent performance and daily, heavy use for business and pleasure, I lost sound from one earbud. I contacted Spigen and they sent me a brand new unit within four days. Still super comfortable and ultra-light. You will forget you are wearing them.

Fabulous Headset, Superb Construction
I am so impressed with this headset. It is so lightweight an flexible. I previous headsets have always been Motorola since the last LG bothered my tinnitus due to the poor fidelity for which LG is famous. This headset has wonderful bass response and so far is most excellent for music.. Comments from people when I call have been " Oh... Wow!! what did you do?? You are so clear all of a sudden.. I have also noticed that the noise cancellation is most excellent. My mother's iPhone S7 has always just KILLED my ears with how bad it is on broadcasting everything without any noise reduction.. a bag rustling sounding like ball bearings on glass, water in the sink sounding like a dump truck dropping metal shards and rocks into a cement mixer.. etc... I can at least speak with her at length without having to pull the buds out of my ears all the time and suffer afterwords with ringing in the ears.I fully agree with another person who commented that Legato will within as little as one generation be in direct competition with LG...I also really appreciate that the earbuds have a facility like a cord retractor on a vacuum cleaner where you pull it out slightly and then may follow the cord into the winder.. All of the others I researched on Amazon have a button you press.. This is not a good idea as people have the proclivity of forgetting to hold on to the earbud as it retracts.. letting it go KER-WHACK!! This will break the wire in short order.. The Legato is smooth and retracts evenly and smoothly. Having Kevlar in the wire is an most excellent idea and relieves me concerning of the over all strength..I've had the headset for only 2 days and am already completely satisfied with the unit. I really like how they gave a full sized speaker with still allowing one to have the ' In The Ear " bud so no hook is necessary to hang over the ear.. Those ear hooks always pinch and get in the way of my glasses... never have been comfortable with them..I also like the three stage light that tells you not only that it is low.. but also lets you know when ti is int he main charge zone by going purple... very convenient.I'm sold, and have been telling people everywhere about them.. They are worth the price as they are.. I hope that Legato will continue to have them moderately priced.. It is infinitely better to make fast nickels than to try to go for the fast dime... and the current rate is decently affordable..Namaste.

Prett good but not great. 4 out of 5
Spent about 3-4 hours of active listening using them after burning them in overnight until the battery died. Listened again today for another hour and my opinion is that the audio quality is decent, but not great. For the record, I was using the LG V30 with an equalizer and played music from Google Play Music and some FLAC music files stored locally on my phone. I have a pair of $30 Bluetooth ear buds with AptX that sound sonically superior. I ended up gifting the Legato to my girlfriend since she liked them.I will mention that the Legato is feature-rich, though. More so than typical budget competitors. You can change volume, play, pause, go back a track or go forward using the buttons on the Legato instead of going to your source. You can also get a verbal confirmation of battery power left in the unit and there is also a vibrate option for incoming calls. Tone control was of little value to me since I use an equalizer, but I could see how it would be a great feature for casuals to toggle between a flat sound vs treble or bass. The problem I see here is simply the price point, but I suppose that considering its form-factor and features, it's not that bad as long as you use the $20 off promotion that's associated with it on Amazon right now. Lastly, if you are tall (above 6ft) then these will not work out for you. Even with the wires from the ear buds fully extended, you will not be able to turn your head fully to the left, right or look up without it tugging at the collar piece. They work fine on my girlfriend who is 5ft5inches.
