Great model
excellent fitment, great casting, molding was exact and parts were detailed well.break away points from trees were placed so that it was mostly hidden when assembled. The stand was a bit small and the supplied display base rod was a bit short, leaving the ship floating only a few inches off displayed surface. The landing bays are not open from end to end, using decals to to simulate interior detail. Still a very well engineered model and detailed enough for most model kit builders. Still pretty easy to build for beginning modelers

Battlestar Pegasus
This is an amazing kit. I bought the galactica a while ago, and I ordered this as soon as I could. The shipping was perfectly on time. The package arrived without a single scratch or dent.As for the set itself, it's incredibly fun to put together. It's a pretty big ship though, and has some very nice weight to it. It's proportionally accurate to the galactica as well!!I recommend painting the whole thing with Testors steel paint. It gives a very screen accurate look, as well as good shading. I will post photos of mine to show how amazing this ship looks

Not for novice or inexperienced model builder
A little more difficult than I am used to building. Actually, have not started it because of that reason. Should saye on box "for experienced modeler," or Level 3.

Amazing model, didn't come out 100% perfect but I love it nonetheless.
Bought this because the pre-finished model is impossible to find, and when it is, is selling for OBSCENE prices ($900+ for a model that costs $110), came very well packaged, instructions were easy to follow, but had some errors. As the pictures show, painting it Metallic Gray (as the instruction booklet, which comes with the corners cut like in the show, very cool) causes it to have a darker hull color than it's depiction in the TV series. If you want it to look like it does in the show, paint it Steel, not Metallic Gray. Some other things:The flight pod decals for the interiors (yes, they're not passthrough like Galactica's) are not symmetrical. I messed up and put them on the wrong sides, which means the port flightpod decal needs to go on the starboard and vice-versa. The underside decals are fine though. Not a fault of the design, that's my mistake. Just pointing it out so nobody makes the same mistake. It comes with more gun turrets than fit on the ship (16 on the alligator head, 3 on each flight pod for a total of 19. The box had 21 turrets)Gluing the engine conduits (the little pipe pieces that go on the stern of the ship and attach to the FTL core and go to each engine) are a PITA to get right, and are difficult to hold in place, just FYI.Also a tip, it is best to glue the flight pods with the whole ship upside down, because the way the ship is designed, gluing the pods in with the ship right side up will cause them to sag (since they attach at an angle into the main fuselage), and I had to re-glue it a second time. The manual doesn't mention what color to paint the alligator head (bow section) inserts, so I just painted them the same color as the ship. It also (and this is important) doesn't show exactly where to paint the red bow markings (about two hull plates up from the bow cap piece).Otherwise, true to its name this thing is a BEAST. It is much larger than the identically scaled Galactica (1:4105 scale), which the photo below shows (the Galactica model is pre-finished, purchased from Amazon). Both are gorgeous ships, but Pegasus is a beautiful, beautiful design and I'm very pleased how she came out, my own mistakes and all. The show doesn't accurately depict the sheer size of these ships; the Galactica is no slouch in size (4740 feet long), but Pegasus in the show comes in at 5872 feet long, and here it's obvious the "Beast" moniker is well earned. Not hard to assemble, took three or so days (mostly in the evenings), painting an extra day. Painted it with Metallic Gray spray enamel, with Red for the bow markings and flight pod borders, and Blue for the thrusters. All of the parts save for the flight pods were attached, and then the fuselage and flight pods were painted separately. It and Galactica now sit proudly on my desk, and I couldn't be happier. I do wish Moebius would release a Battlestar Valkyrie model to round out the BSG universe, but maybe one day....

Having built both the original and remake versions of the Galactica from Moebius, I wanted to round out my Battlestar collection and was definitely not disappointed with Moebius's offering of the remake Pegasus. The biggest observation straight up is this thing is big. At almost 17", it is built to scale with the remake Galactica, but placed side by side this Mercury class Battlestar makes the smaller Jupiter class ship puny in comparison. In fact, it is about the same size as the original Galactica model, although whether this was intention is hard to say since the actual length of the original Battlestar (assuming it was a real, full-size ship) has always been in dispute.Overall, this kit was both fun and not too difficult to assemble; in fact out of the other two ships, I found this the easiest of all. Most of the parts fit perfectly into place and would likely stay that way even without glue, though this isn't a snap-together kit. Unlike the other kits, I didn't run into the same issues with fidgetty fitting parts that required both trimming and in some cases left gaps even after gluing. The only major issue was with the conduit pipes that connected to the engines. I deliberately disregarded the instruction order and didn't put them into place until after attaching the eight engine pods as it just seemed like an easier alignment and fit then if I had followed the directions. The fact the interior of the flight bays was represented by matte-like decals similar to the original Galactica model seemed like a cheap-out, when for the price, I thought they should have been through-and-through with at least some rudimentry detail inside. A detail I did like was the seperate machinery insert parts in the alligator head that was also part of the original Galactica model, but absent in the remake one. It added both depth and more detail to the ship and makes Admiral Adama's ship look more plain in comparison.Though I orginally preferred the old school Galactica kit (as well as the ship itself), after assembeling this one, I am beginning to conclude that this is my favorite of the three Battlestar kits from Moebius. Compared to both incarnations of Galactica, the Pegasus projects power and lethality and looks like it could take on an entire Cylon armada by itself. It almost makes one wonder how different the whole remake series would gone had not the producers stupidly sacrificed the Pegasus and it instead survived to the end.Though out of all the three Battlestar kits from Moebius, the Pegasus is the most expensive, I think for the quality and beauty it is pretty much worth it and will highlight anyone's model collection. So say we all.

The Beast
Love this. It brings back so many memories of my childhood. This is a big, heavy model. Good lines and we'll made. The stand could be a little bigger. Model is to heavy for it. Slightest bump and it will fall over. You might want to mount the stand to something larger or heaver . Other than that. She's a beauty. Parts are made well and the plastic used is pretty thick. This Battlestar had a nickname.. The Beast. That's exactly what this model is.. A Beast.
