I needed a smallish stylish desk to fit in my tiny apartment because I have been working from home for over a year now. And I needed to put it together myself. At first I was using a laptop that had a decent size screen and I didn’t need to use multiple apps all the time. Then I switched jobs and got a tiny little ThinkPad and I had to buy monitors and it was just getting too crazy. I live on my own and I’m a 60 year old woman and not very handy so I needed something I can put together myself and this looked good. Well it was the easiest thing to put together ever - took less than 5 minutes. It even comes with a little ratchet and an Allen key which makes it even simpler. Good quality also. I should add that I bought a Zinus bed before which is also awesome. I had to have a male friend put the bed together but the quality is great too. Just saying this because it’s a good company. Love the desk. Great value. Wish I had more space in here for a bigger one.

This desk is well made and is a really nice size for a small office. The two tone is modern and the desk is high enough for a small filing cabinet to fit underneath.

It's light enough for one person to handle, assemble, and place.The packaging is minimal and this (47inch) version came with almost all paper packaging. My other one (55inch espresso desk) still had styrofoam packaging, but the foam was all plastic bagged to keep it from crumbling.Like most Zinus products, the big win is the very-well thought out assembly, flat-pack, and directions. There's spare parts included, the parts are segregated in their packaging instead of jumbled, and there's both the usual hex wrench and a tiny ratchet wrench for final tightening. It's easy to unpack without things falling out.The assembly is easy and clearly labeled, the directions are some of the best of the picture-based ones I've ever seen. This has been true for almost all Zinus products I've used. They clearly know what they're doing in both design and packing.What don't I like? The square side pieces are harder to clean around than pole-style legs. The desk is light enough that it wobbles if placed on carpet. It's a little pricier than you might hope for the materials used.But the thing I dock a star for, is that the textured top has a fake-wood sort of lookIt doesn't look like it MIGHT be wood or a wood veneer, or that it's even trying to be. Nor that it's a smooth synthetic. It's clearly fake-wood, especially up close. See my photo, which also includes a flaw in the finish. The photo over-emphasizes the fake grain, but it's sort of apparent to the eye.Knowing that, I might have picked a different product or at least a dark finish.Nice design, wish it looked more like wood, or less like fake wood.
