Amazing tool with lifetime updates. Truly a must for BMW and Volkswagen. Average cost of additional vehicle software is $80, with free updates after purchase. Purchase made on the scan tool. It is worth a lot more than the price. I've saved thousands of dollars using it.

This thing is amazing.. works great for my 2015 bmw 35i. Was able to diagnose most things. Does not reprogram anything though. Good quality

I have a few scan tools, one is OBD2 but with an app for readouts, one is a simple LCD readout with limited visual functions. This one from foxwell is amazing by comparison having a full touchscreen with great graphics. It can be used on OBD2 cars, but special functions and certain diagnostics are tailored for certain BMWs. The display is great and though complex the features are mostly easy to follow. It can even find your VIN on most cars. It's a little pricey but for the professional or the hardcore home mechanic this can prove a great tool with tons of useful features.

I bought this based on research and reviews, but some things were not clear about it, and I had to get a replacement. The first unit wouldn't initialze; and I found out it had been initialized by someone else, so it would not work for me. Amazon was great about replacing it, and the new one did initialze, but only had software for four European manufacturers, and no US vehicles (I need both). I tried contacting Foxwell about it, but did not receive a response before their website went down. After it came back up, I learned the unit is sold with ONLY software installed for the four European vehicles, and you have to buy software for any other vehicles (@$100 per manufacturer). So, make sure you can afford the cost of any software you need in addition to the cost of the unit before buying it.

dam thing lies i got a bmw x3 and i had more its not available show up then testing done, huge waste of money,. maybe its just the older cars its a 2007 x3 it cleared the codes but all the extyra stuff it claimed it would do for bmnw it didnt do anything

As with all Foxwell OBD 2 devices I have purchased this one did not disappoint. Foxwell does a great job in providing easy to use devices that easily decode your VIN and decode any codes being thrown. Ask in all another great device by a great company.
