Unbelievable quality for the price
I knew when I bought this wine opener it was a Laguiole knock off, and not French at all. But given the positive reviews and the cheap price (I'm no supported reviewer, so I paid full price and can say what I want), I thought I'd give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived. It is heavier than I thought it would be and of admirable quality. The design is beautiful and it functions as it should. It opens wine bottles easily. There are two fulcrum points, but I've only needed one (the obvious one) to open bottles quickly and neatly. I have another opener that cost about the same and there is no comparison, this Chinese made opener is superior on all counts.I was so impressed that I bought three more to use as hostess gifts, and a Flying Colors Leguiole style folding pocket knife just because I like knives and want to see if it also of the quality of the real thing.

High quality & functionality
Nice sommelier! We owned a French Laguiole for many years, but it was badly damaged when our house burned to the ground last year. We bought a China-made “Laguiole” for 16 euros at a wine shop in Dinan this Fall, but the screw broke on the 2nd use (beware of black-coated screws...). This one, however, is well-made and functions much like the real thing (blade & screw open just fine) — and is still working after a dozen uses. So, we’re very pleased with the quality — and the price. I'd bought my real Laguiole 15 years ago on sale for 59 euros, but couldn't bring myself to pay the current price -- and haven't given up on trying to salvage mine. So, hats off to Flying Colors for offering such a fine alternative at such an affordable price!

Great on multie levels
Have purchased three Chateau Laguiole keys in previous years. Love them. Easily open aged corks with no damage or breakage. But at $150+ each, they were an investment. I was very, very skeptical based on the price of this one.Compared to the others? This one really is far better. Very, very nice. A much more solid feel and cleaner detail in the metal work. The famous Laguiole "bee" is even more defined. At this price, I will be ordering more to give as gifts. Very happy with this purchase. BTW - the presentaion / storage box is nice too. So much so that I have retired one of the Chateau keys to the 2 bottle leather Alice Klein BYOB carrier and have put this one out on the counter in our wine bar.

Good item
Looks beautiful and is well made. It’s a little stiff to pull the tools out. But with use that should get easier. Overall very satisfied

Pretty and Works Well Enough
I bought this after some very frustrating experiences with similar tools purchased at the grocery store and the local Walmart. This one is MUCH sturdier. It's also very pretty. The wood is nice. The metal is ornately decorated. The fit and finish isn't perfect but after having the Walmart version literally bend apart versus a bottle of Barefoot; who cares if there is a rough spot here or there? It's easy on the eye and it actually opens a bottle of wine.I'd like to give it more than three stars but as a few other reviewers noticed, the ergonomics and leverage could be a little better. I worked a few summers waiting tables at a fancy cafe and we used a professional version of this tool. The difference in those aspects is night and day. The reason to go with this one is that it works and gives you beauty on a budget.

Gorgeous and quality!
I am a huge Laguiole fan. This is by far my favorite Waiter's Tool for these reasons: 1. It is gorgeous ! and no one believed the price. 2. Tight mechanism. 3. Its design is precise- no fear of pressure chipping the bottle edge. This is unbelievable at this price. I'm a beekeeper. I adore my bees. I love anything with a classy bee on it. This was my reason for the purchase. I didn't expect it to function like my others that are costly. I could be a spokesperson for this. Call me!

They Look Better than they Work!
I collect wine openers, and my favorites are Laguiole, including three that are genuinely hand made by the accredited sources, and cost a few hundred dollars. In addition, I've bought some of the less expensive "in the tradition of" brands and given them as gifts, and also used these brands myself. I had one of these corkscrews for close to 10 years, that was my go-to until it finally broke. I don't know who made it, but it also sold for this price point (under $15). Needless to say, I was excited to find the Flying Colors brand. I will say that the wine openers from them look beautiful, and would make a nice gift, as long as you don't really use it often. I bought 3 of these and before giving them away, I tested them over a few weeks. The problem is in the very pointed tip of the corkscrew itself. One of them is blunt, the other points in some weird direction, making it impossible to center the corkscrew down the middle of the cork....it just goes off to the side. The 3rd one works well. So, you're batting .333 which is great in baseball, but not for wine.

Bought as a Christmas gift.
Bought this for my son and daughter in-law for Christmas. They are wine lovers and they go through a lot of wine openers. They liked the size and sturdiness of the opener. It was as pictured and described by the seller.
