No leader kinks but crank it down!
My brother found these things and brought them on a steelhead trip a few years ago. He kept blabbing on and on about how he found the ultimate indicator, which I thought a bit ridiculous because we’re steelhead fishing with 5lbs of shot. Yeah, I use an indicator too but we’re not dangling size 22 zebra midges so it’s probably the one part of my setup that had been a bit neglected. After some coaxing I convinced him to relinquish one of his precious balls, which flew off my line after four roll cast and drifted by him down the river. I couldn’t get another one out of him after that so I eventually bought a can. What I learned was that you need to screw them together way tighter than you’d think. Since the first one loosened and flew off my line I haven’t lost one. I’ve also never stripped the plastic threads. I’m not even sure if that’s possible. The best part, and the reason my brother was so stoked on them, is they don’t kink your leader and they’re easy to adjust. Overall, they are less sensitive than thingamabobbers, a bit heavier, and float a little lower. I still use both, but throw on an Oros most often. For trout, I’ll probably stick with yarn but might give a small Oros a try.

My favorite indicator
I love Echo and the air locks, the new ones. But OROS is as good if not better and this is a good buy and in a handy container to put in your pocket or vest or pack. They work great too. Its now my preferred indicator with Airlocks right behind. Oros is a bit cheaper to that's a factor. I've used OROS for years and great results.

ORO'S strike indicators .
Nice strike indicators , deducted one star based on cost . A bit pricey for what they are . XS are about 3/8" , i'm going to order the small next time they are closer to 1/2 " I want both sizes for different conditions . Very easy to use and work great .

Easy to see, sm and xs are big enough to spot and don't affect casting
These are great, light on the line for casting, easy to adjust depth quickly on the river. I was worried they would kink the line, but they don't at all. Highly reccomed small or xs, as they are easy to see and detect any movement.
