The Way Things Work: Newly Revised Edition: The Ultimate Guide to How Things Work Hardcover – Illustrated, 2 May 2023

Much of what I understand about the world I can directly attribute to this book. I received it as a gift in 1992. Many years later, I am a professional engineer.If you want to foster an analytical and mechanical mind, or just help a young person to break down the complicated world around them into more manageable chunks, I highly recommend this book.

Very informative, my daughter has happily read this for hours.

Grandchildren love it

This is my 12 year old grandson's rating." I like it but I think the older version is better (He means the very much older version for younger children that was his uncles and aunt's) because it has more pictures to show how it (sic) works."

I purchased this as a later edition of the original, which I have been using as a teaching tool for some years. However, there was no indication in the description that it was intended for the American market and was written in US English; completely unsuitable for either my law students, who come from all over the world, or for my grandchildren learning about technology. I therefore returned it and purchased the UK English edition (again not advertised as such) at half the price.
