Nice camera, great customer support.
I have had this camera with floodlights for about 10 months. It was easy to install and it worked well until about 3 months ago. The floodlights quit working even though the batteries were still good. I called tech support and she had me take all batteries out and reconnect with the sync module which did not fix the problem. Finally, she had me delete it from the system and reinstall it. After that, it worked fine. She said it was a "firmware" update that had been needed. So this week, the exact same thing happened....no floodlights. This time I didn't bother with tech support. I deleted it from the system and then reinstalled it. I didn't bother with the whole battery back and forth. It now works fine.If this happens again, I'll be looking for another system. One other note, if you have the Blink subscription, you can set the motion sensor to "person only". This helps when you have neighbors who let their cats/dogs/chickens run the neighborhood and visit your front porch.Follow up. Blink is sending me a replacement, so maybe the issue with the floodlight has been resolved.🤞The replacement seems to be working fine. I have had follow-up e-mails from Blink support, which I appreciate.I have changed my rating to 5 star because I really like the system and the customer service.

Bright and clear
Have this light and camera mounted on my shop about 150 ft from the house. Works great. The lights do run on D batteries.

Rip off and not worth it.
Horrible battery life and Only the most expensive battery’s (lithium ion batteries) can be used. No regular alkaline or rechargeables for the camera.Horrible connection. I have my internet/wifi right next to the Blink module and the camera with great WiFi signal (from Spectrum) and there is always 5-29 second delays where if something happened outside (front door or the garage/driveway) it takes over 5-10 seconds, sometimes up to 30 seconds long after the incident for you to see what happened or watch the rest of what’s being recorded/captured on live view) crap!!!!!💩If there was an assault or robbery you can’t see what’s outside right away. The delay to take a look is absolutely ridiculous.Horrible live view. Using this feature just drains the batteries even more faster.Horrible external Storage, you have to keep purchasing usb-A external usb thumb drives because these Blink modules don’t work with anything bigger than usb-A @ 32gb external storage thumb drives.Thumb drive recordings can only be seen on a computer with USB-A ports but not your smartphone’s usb-c or lightning port if you have an older iPhone model. And only with USB-A ports instead of USB-C ports.Blink tells you to delete files on the thumb drives to make more space to continue using the one thumb drive. Ridiculous. You can’t use a 1 TB or higher USB-A storage drive. No USB-C, just USB-A storage device on the Blink module.Rip off ($100 per year) to purchase Blink Cloud backup service (which only backs up the last 60 days). Without this you can’t see what’s outside that happened five minutes ago while looking at the Clips of events that are recorded in the Blinks smartphones app. Then it is only from the external storage you can veiw clips of what happened around the camera from your computer hours after an event instead at the moment after an event.. Ridiculous. There is no 2 year battery life (only when settings are at the 💩 crappiest settings. No bright lights, 2 seconds video clips, turned off at all times, no live view monitoring) etc.The lights take four D batteries plus the camera takes 2 AA lithium batteries that have to continuously “have to be full” (brand new) at all times for both the camera and the lights to work properly at all times. After buying the main devices you end up having to spend more $$$$$ a couple to several hundred dollars more per year just to continue using (depending on how many you have installed around the property). Batteries lithium AA and regular D, Blink storage cloud membership just to view recently recorded Clips, external storage if you don’t always delete off the recordingsBuyers beware. You’ll get screwed having to continue spending money to use these if you want to use them with the best settings. After checking the batteries with battery testers showing the battery’s are still great or still good the Blink app shows the battery’s need changing ( and shares a link to Amazon for where you can buy new/more batteries) . And the camera and lights won’t/don’t function correctly until new batteries are installed. And within the month the camera and lights are right back to failing to work properly when needed the most. After owning three of these (and a blink mini) for the last couple of years I regret ever buying these. The wired camera to your properties electric lines are better but limited to where even those can be placed without the inconvenience sometimes costing more just for modifying or installing an electrical line. This was one reason why I bought these.I don’t recommend these.Blink mini cameras are better but only for indoor use facing out a window since it is plugged into house electrical and has a built in light. But still with the Blink cloud storage and external storage problem.A smartphones video camera is better for home security and monitoring than these.

First, remove the clear plastic shield that sits on the top of the batteries in the floodlight. I opened it up to check for batteries which are top shelf I might add…but did not see the clear battery shield because IT IS CLEAR! Duh!!!I chased the problem of the floodlights not working for an hour before I opened the battery box again and finally saw the shield…they ought to put a color sticker or something on this shield so this it can be easily seen.Otherwise, function of camera and floodlights are excellent.

Easy setup & use
My system consists of multiple Sync hubs and 10+ cameras and covers a physically large area with the help of a WiFi mesh router system. As a way to look at various parts of the property, the system is ok. But I regret purchasing because although very inexpensive, the system is quite limited. I say this for the following reasons--Scheduling can be done but is only available across ALL cameras on a given sync module.-Using one camera to trigger another is impossible.-Camera trigger time lag is a significant issue: Both the delivery drivers and my spouse are consistently nearly outside or outside the frame of view of the camera looking at the driveway entrance before the video begins. If you are attempting to catch time-sensitive or quick events, I advise caution.-observation showed that the AC powered cameras’ nighttime illumination was always on after dark and apparently visible to several nighttime animals (near IR?). This illumination can be turned off but renders the camera blind after dark in most cases.-if the local Blink camera system, I.e. sync module, loses internet connection, accessing the cameras, even when local, is impossible (our internet service isn’t the fastest or most reliable which highlights system weaknesses)-The camera system should not be considered a real-time security system.Bottom line- extremely inexpensive up-front cost, easy to set up, easy to use, but limited in capability and useless without internet connection.
