I will start by saying the material is thick enough to help save the mane. However...as a previous mentioned review the straps....putting them on is easy but the length is a bit long even for a 1250lb thick quarter horse neck. Recommendations....the attaching velcro needs to be much longer to accommodate any size horse. Total bust!!

It’s not perfect but it keeps my horse from rubbing his mane out and breakage at the top and is more airy than a full hood. Comes in very useful for just after a bath to protect the mane. Straps are long but I realize the Velcro actually sticks to the slinky material. Strap at the top loops around his fly mask.

This product was cheap. So I didn't expect fantastic quality. But what I am unhappy with is the design. It sucks. I don't think it will actually fit a horse of any kind. No instructions although regardless it's just 3 odd sized really stretchy thin straps on thin spandex material. It has an extra loop at the top I assume to run it through the halter. I was looking for something to keep my horse from rubbing his mane off due to putting his head through the fence rails to graze during turn out. I tried to fit it, there is no way. Straps are huge and length of the material is really short offering very poor coverage. I also was looking for something to be used without a halter. This isn't it. Ended up tossing it. Might work for a small (like 10HH) pony if you modified the straps to make them smaller. For reference my horse is a 15.2HH mustang.

Too stretchy, don’t like the way the strap pulls and rubs behind his front legs. It requires a halter to keep it in place.

Elastic straps are way too long. Velcro on the elastic straps is not in the right location.
