Holy Shit!.....What a pair of cans!
Fantastic headphones at a great price. If you need a pair quality cans look no further than these. Technics have always made trusted yet innovative products especially targeting the pro and bedroom DJ alike. I DJ and needed a pair that wasn't going to break the bank but were robust enough to withstand the battering my usually headphones take. Great noise cancelling and the mids are smooth and the bass is punchy without being overpowering. I have a big noggin and these fit perfectly and are very comfortable. Build quality is, as always with Technics products, fantastic too and marvellous for the price. Go Technics!

flimsy plastic
I have had these for a year now and like most of the comments I cannot fault the sound quality especially at a high level. My criticism is that the ear cup feels quite large, I know it's good for cutting out outside sound but they feel bigger than needed. Another thing is the plastic slide for extending the size to fit the bigger head, it cracked and broke on my pair and I had to end up using superglue to fix them as the shop nor manufacturer would accept that they were not robust enough. I have only one ear that I can extend but it's actually fine for me from that point as I have a smaller head. So that's just a point to look out for.I must also say the look is fantastic and I do feel quite chuffed getting them out the bag before a gig.

Really bad on comfort
I'm not one for ultra technical reviews but these headphones are fantastic on sound quality. They are very good on external noise reduction. Good bass. They are probably the best headphones I've owned and I really care about noise exclusion - living in a very busy area of the city with noisy neighbours.I just can't abide the poor comfort issue. The headphones feel very comfortable when you first put them on: big plush leather ring cushions encase your ears, delivering the great sound with a heavy, luxury feel. However, wear them for more than an hour or so and they start to really nip. I've tried adjusting the arms at either side but it doesn't do much good. In the end I just take them off after an hour or so to give my head a break. They are just far too snug.Disappointed. The spec may be great in all other respects but if you can't keep them on your head for as long as you'd like, it becomes slightly redundant.

Awesome
Unlike the most common use as DJ headphones I got these for using as headphones when working as a soundman on film shoots. The cup out external sound amazingly well since they are designed for use in clubs. Sound quality is great and they are incredibly durable. I've used the for about two years now and they are still working perfectly. I would buy these again.5/5 for me.

Durable, decent sounding and good value!
I bought these in replacement of my Denon DN HP 1000 DJ Headphones after Denon refused to repair or replace the broken band (even on a paid for repair!!) and I have been EXTREMELY happy with them. The detatchable cable is an absolute vital touch for me, and the sound quality even at very high levels is brilliant. They have been able to withstand about 3 years of frequent gigging DJ (ab)use. When these ones eventually break (although I'm wondering what kind of cataclysm would cause that!) I will be buying another pair. RECOMMENDED!!

Very good value for money
I'm an owner of also the Sony MDR-V700DJ Professional DJ Headphones Build - 5/5These headphones are amazingly comfortable. Really, you can wear them for a long time without even noticing you've got them on. The comfort really becomes a great quality if you plan on watching any movies from a laptop or just trying to not make a lot of noise. The part that actually touches your skin is a nice leather that is smooth to the touch - so really comfortable. The rest of the headphone just feels like a really expensive pair of headphones, but surprisingly light to have on your head.Sound Quality - 4/5These are a common choice for dj's all over and it's easy to hear why. They really let you hear your music at a level it deserves to be heard at. The mids are nicely balanced, but personally I felt as though the highs were lacking a little. The low end base sounds extremely accurate, but is a little weak until you start to turn up the volume. At high volumes, which really is where these need to be listened to at, these sound amazing. One comparable headphone, the Sony MDR-V700DJ, has higher highs, louder lows, but weaker mids.Overall they are a great choice for anyone looking for a step up in their headphones without getting into the real expensive lines. These get daily usage from me. I use these when I am casually listening to music or watching a movie, then I switch to my Sony 700's when I start doing any mixing.
