I bought this as a gift and I must get another for myself. So pretty. Perfect travel size- not too small and def not too big. Great magnets and the board is so pretty!

This is an attractive set. The faux leather cover of the board is a bit lightly tinted, but easy enough to see; my only question would be whether it will hold up to hard travel over time. The pieces are not fitted into slots, but packed in drawstring bags and then stored inside the board, which is actually rather nice and means that a different set of pieces could easily be used down the line. A set of checkers is also included. The pieces are standard Staunton, and my wife, a raw beginner, had no trouble identifying them right away. This isn't a true compact travel set, but it's certainly small enough to bring along on trips packed in baggage, and large enough to allow the whole board to be easily perused.

Bought as a gift for an Angle Tree. A local foster child just wanted a portable chess set. This one was wonderful. VERY WELL made. Frankly, I wouldnt mind having one like this. It folds up perfectly and holds all pieces. It is a little smaller then a regulation size but its perfect for traveling or not a lot of storage space.
