Efficient, robust, powerful little juicebox!
I used to have an OEM 250W power supply in my mini-ITX case that came with the case when I purchased it. When I added an external graphics card earlier this year, I quickly realized I needed to upgrade my power supply to match. I looked to see if I could find something from Corsair, Seasonic, or one of the other brands I know and trust. When I saw this FSP unit, I remembered how they used to supply power supplies to manufacturers like Compaq in the servers I worked on in datacenters in the nineties. That was enough for me to pull the trigger, especially considering the very reasonable price. I'm very glad I did! There were several upsides to this upgrade:1. With the original PSU, my average power consumption whilst doing very basic tasks would be about 60W, as measured with my Kill-a-watt power meter. After upgrade, that dropped to less than 45W!!! That's an efficiency increase of 25%, which is just silly.2. The fan in the old power supply was running all the time, at a noticeable level. New power supply fan doesn't kick in at all, unless I ramp up CPU usage to 100% for sustained periods (rendering video etc).3. The heat generated by the old PSU was palpable. Post-upgrade, the temperature in my office has dropped by several degrees! The new power supply is hardly even warm to the touch where the old one was hot! This is due to two things - having the extra 200W headroom, as well as the Bronze 80 certification. This is a guarantee of at least 80% efficiency in the conversion of mains AC voltage to the PC's 12V, 5V, and 3.3V feeds. There are four rating levels - bronze, silver, gold and platinum. I will never again buy a PSU that is not 80+ rated. This is a GREAT little power supply, and I am very glad to see that FSP are still making the same quality of equipment after all this time.

Mostly ok, noise is annoying (update: Very good PSU.. read update)
EDIT ----------------Found the culprit to half the annoyance mentioned below, it was a different fan. The PSU still makes a small annoying noise that you may not even notice if your PSU fan is not pointed towards your ears.I had originally rated it 3 stars but I am upgrading it to (4.3) .. -> rounding it to 4ORIGINAL ------------Overall, I like this small PSU.There is one caveat though: my case has more ventilation than a stock Dan A4 SFX which means it lets out more of the internal fan noises. To make things worse, the PSU is pointing towards my left ear. If I'm not wearing headphones I can hear a distant super minor bearing noise and some times when it's very quiet or you're paying too much attention it feels like somebody is drilling in your ear very slightly, it's that annoying when quiet. If your case is more insulated, OR if it's not pointing towards your ears you may be ok.Other than that. it works well. Modular cables are long.. a little to long for an SFF build, but it would be worse if they were too short ;)

High quality. Perfect fit. Dead silent
This fit perfectly in my ITX case. I replaced the stock PSU with this unit as the original sounded like a jet engine. This power supply has fantastic reviews at Hardware Secrets (rated Golden and confirmed 80%.) Go read the review there if you are not sure about the quality of this unit. This costs more than my ITX case with built in PSU but it's worth the money as far as I am concerned. Quiet, stable, reliable power is very important to me. This unit is VERY quiet. I can't hear it all. I had to verify the fan was actually spinning as it was so quiet. Here is the deal on this unit. This is designed for a small ITX case. The cables are very short. This would not work in a full size case without extenders or something. I wouldn't bother if you have a full size case. Get a different PSU that is designed for ATX. The use case is for low power, small ITX systems that need to be quiet. The cables just fit in my case and I was pleased to not have a bunch of extra wire I had to coil up. It does come with some legacy connectors that you will likely not use as well. Not a problem for me.

Heavy noise after 10 months, no company support
Bought the PSU 10 months ago, and for about 6 months it worked as expected. Quiet and reliable. At month 9, started making wining noises. At month 10, now makes clunking noises. Fan revs heavily up and down when PC is at idle with nothing running down.Reached out to product support over a week ago with no response (Their website says allow 24-48 hours). Called twice and went straight to voicemail.

Works well, loud fan
It works well except the fan is loud. It’s not whinny, but it’s a loud “woosh” sound. On idle it’s the loudest component of my PC. I have one 140mm dan running at 700RPM, one Ryzen Wraith Stealth cooler at 700RPM and this. This is the loudest by far.The fan is 80mmx80mmx15mm if you are looking to replace it. I will let you know if I replace it.

Great PSU for the price...
I have been nothing but happy with this PSU. I purchased it for use in a fresh Mini-ITX install, and was surprised to see that I could've also used it in a standard-sized ATX case. That's because this PSU came with adapters to allow you to install it into a regular ATX-sized cutout, or the more rare Micro-ATX/Mini-ITX/SFX size. Great idea for long-term thinkers. Should I ever want to put together a larger, more powerful PC, I won't have to buy a larger PSU simply due to it's size (wattage may be a different story, but hang with me here). This guy provides my system plenty of power (maybe even an overkill), and stays nearly dead silent at all times. I keep the PC in my bedroom, and the sound is never an issue for me. The CPU fan, on the other hand,...grrr. For a smaller, power-efficient setup like mine, I highly recommend taking a look at this PSU.My Setup:Silverstone SG06BB-Lite Mini-ITX CaseFSP Mini-ITX 300W PSUMSI FM2-A75IA-E53 MotherboardAMD A6-6600K APU (100 watt) w/stock CPU fanOCZ Vertex 3 120GB SSDPatriot 8GB (2 X 4GB) DDR3 1600 Extreme Performance Viper 3 Series RAMSingle 120mm case fan (came with the case)
