Great little machine
I use the pump to empty my hot tub. I have the hot tub in a 12x12 shed so if I empty with the plug it would rot floor. This pump does the job with ease. It also is faster than just pulling the plug and letting the tub empty. At least 3 times faster and with a hose on the pump I can direct where the water empties to I/e the drain instead of just letting it flood the patio.

Does exactly what it says at a great price
I have stream running alongside my property and during the drought discovered I could lift a certain amount of water from it. My garden is 3-4 metres above the stream - The pump lifted it no problem - very impressed

For the price recommend.
You need to ensure the pump is full of water and no air is still inside. I typically tilt it on its side when submerged to make sure all the air is out other wise even though it is fully submerged it will try and pump dry. I've tried other pumps and they seem to self-prime (fill with water) OK.Once you get past that it performs well. The tilt switch won't turn on until it is significantly vertical. Initially I clipped the tilt switch into the clip on the handle with only a short run of flex and found that even fully submerged the stiffness in the flex prevented the switch going vertical and turning the pump on. For the price recommend.

So far so good.
I’ve only used this once (how often do you really need to drain a koi pond?!) but it worked well. It didn’t drain quite as quickly as advertised but that could be down to the diameter of the hose I connected (pond is 7000L so should have emptied in under an hour but it took 1.5 hours). I would have given it an extra star but when registering for the warranty on their site, there was an error. I emailed for confirmation but have never heard anything from Tacklife.

don't do my mistake and use one of those scrunch up hose pipes!
I tried using a new scrunch up hose pipe (the ones which start off compact but get longer and expand when water goes through them). The pressure was unable to expand the pipe so it stay as a trickle going through the thin bore.Simple solution - use a proper conventional hose pipe! After I switched hose pipes the flow was excellent. Went up 1 meter and then 10 meters horisontally and out the end up into the air and good velocity. Was able to project the stream another 3 meters to my trees at the top end of the garden. (I use it to empty the hot tub onto my trees).Works fab! Will be very useful in a flood too, it pumps fast (when you use the right hose pipe!).pro tip: get a hose pipe with a wide diameter!

Great pump for hot tubs, used with a 1.5" layflat hose bought separately
I used it to empty our hot tub. 1300L took around 35 minutes with a 1.5" katsu lay flat hose. I attached the float upright using a zip tie. Around 2cm depth of water was left in the footwell and seats, which I got rid of using a wet/dry hoover (I suggest you buy one in addition to the submersible, unless you want to mop up the remnant water with a sponge). I plan to big a bigger circumference hose which will allow me to empty the hot tub even quicker.
