I so appreciate having a potassium meter at my fingertips. How often I've wanted this! Once I got past the learning curve, I find it fast and easy to use.

This product gives very inconsistent readings. It is unstable, as you have to hold the device at a slight slope otherwise the reading is 200x higher than the control. Blood potassium levels are typically between 3-5 although they could techically get as low as 1 or 2 although the peron would probably be dead and as high as 7-9 in extreme cases which would also kill you. This device shows a 3.8 and then jumps to 20 for now reason. then it comes down to 8 and then 2 within the same minute. If you do not tilt the devise at an angle it will not show you a reading. Half the time it doesn't give you a number at all when you put in a sample. There is nothing scientific about this device. It is unreliable and total waste of money. For $400 you think they would figure out how to accurately and consistently measure potassium, they do it with blood sugar for $20. This device reminds me of that made in china mp3 player I bought for $5 on ebay, or every other low quality made in china electronic device. I would literlaly pay $2,000 for a device that accurately measured my potassium. I wonder if they could have done it right if they had spent more money to make it better. It seems such a waste that they stopped short and didn't actually deliver a reliable product. I'm dissapointed bc there isn't another one i can find on the market. I will likely die one day because of my potassium paralysis. My father has already given me cpr twice this year. Only if they had gone all in. now we will never know.

Little hard to set up but once you do it works well

I went for a blood work and did the saliva test in the same time : I had the same numbers.

These units are defective. I received the unit and performed the calibration procedure but got an error on the 2000ppm test fluid. I returned and received a replacement. Again, I performed the calibration procedure but the device displayed 160ppm for the 150ppm test fluid. I finished the calibration anyways and it worked without errors. However, when I checked readings with the test fluid, they erratic. It would read 500ppm for the 150ppm test on time and 3000ppm another time and similar erratic readings with the 2000ppm test fluid. After receiving two different units that were defective. I am convinced these units don't work properly and am sending it back for a refund.

Perfect for anyone needing an easy way to monitor their potassium

I bought this meter from EnviroSupply (now out of business) and it was great! But I lost it and bought one here. From almost day one, the results were sketchy. By the time I had used it for two months, (too late to return) I learned the sensor was bad (a $160 part). It has been hard to calibrate from the beginning, not the case with the one I bought elsewhere. And now, for the past 2-3 months, it won't calibrate at all. I would not buy from this company again. I believe they sell monitors with bad sensors.
