I have been wearing Hanes over the calf socks for years (30 plus) and the last ones I ordered are NOT over the calf anymore, they cut them down by at least 2 inches and are now 95% polyester. Who makes socks with plastic? These are fantastic, real over the calf socks and are 91% cotton. Even after washing they go all the way up like the should and did not slide down all day. Hanes has lost my business. Another review said they were too big but I don't agree, they have to be big to be over the calf socks. I'm ordering another package today. Yes, you only get 4 pairs and they are more expensive than the Hanes but what good does it do to save money if you aren't happy with the product. I will be trying to return the other ones.

My husband is a welder. He wears steel toe boots every day. He is also 6’4” and 325 lbs. His boots were rubbing his calves raw. We tried two other over-the-calf sock brands and neither of them came up tall enough. These socks do! They also hold up well in the wash.

I love these socks! I am a tall person and wear boots. It is almost impossible to walk into a store and find tall socks where I live. Had been wearing Hanes, but they changed them. These are good and tall, and stay up well. Other brands that I have tried slide down and are so tight that they almost cut off the circulation in my calves. I would recommend these to anyone who needs tall socks.

Tube socks are so useful! In addition to using them as socks for kids whose feet seem to grow every month, you can fill them with rice, tie the ends, and microwave them for 2 minutes to make a warm wrap to reduce neck pain (seriously, this works better than any of the commercial products I have tried over the years). You can also cut off the feet to make leg warmers. You can tuck pant legs into them for a costume that requires knickers (this time we tucked in the pants and cut off the feet because the costume required leggings under knickers). I was so frustrated that I couldn't find tube socks in stores. These are nice and thick, too. Hopefully Amazon will continue to sell them because we seem to need them every few years or so.

Excellent quality. The high percentage of cotton makes them very comfortable and they have a lot less tendency to slide on non carpeted floors compared to socks with a high percentage of polyester. Not a chance of showing any skin showing as they cover my calf completely which is great for mowing lawns and keeping out nasty chiggers.

Waited to review these for several wear/wash cycles and I am really happy! Little to no noticeable shrinkage. I'm 6' 3" and they come up just below my knee stay up there and are not too tight or too thin. Finally socks that dont make me choose between allowing blood to get to my feet but stay up and allowing blood to get to my feet but getting devoured by my boots. I guess now that I've said this they will change manufactures or jack up the price but I planned for that by ordering more so I'll be okay for a while.

I needed these for an unconventional purpose, but they worked perfectly. We used them on my horse, to protect his heels while wearing boots for a hoof problem. They went on easily and were not too tight around his legs and they protect his heels from rubbing just fine!

I've been looking for socks like these for 2 or 3 years now. These socks are awesome!!!! I used to be pretty loyal to a brand named sock until about 4 years ago. At that time they started getting shorter and much more light weight. These socks are perfect. They are fairly thick, giving me much more padding than the name brand socks and these socks actually go over the calf. When I wear boots, I hate to feel my socks slide down my leg. These socks don't do that. They stay up all day and seem to maintain their shape and elasticity wash after wash. These socks were so good for me that I actually bought 4 or 5 more sets of them. You won't be disappointed with these socks if you're looking for an over the calf sock.
