Works as advertised, Configure your firmware!
If you need to connect an SSD to your Pi, this definitely works. Make sure you follow the instructions to configure your Pi's firmware though, otherwise you won't get proper speeds. It meets the advertised speeds, isn't terribly difficult to install if you know how to handle electronics, and feels good quality. I haven't had any issues, so I'd say this is worth it.

Great PI Hat!
Great POE Hat for the Pi 5. Has worked solid and the FAN helps keep the Processor Cool.Slot for extra storage is great to as do not trust a SD Card that much for production use of data storage with a PI as read and write cycles can be much lower.

Using for my All Sky Camera so I just have to run an outdoor Ethernet cable
So far, so good. I've got some issues with the software, but this board is running fine with my Pi 5 in an outdoor sealed electrical box at the end of 200 ft of outdoor Ethernet cable. I haven't monitored the daytime temperatures of the Pi inside the box in the sun, so all I can say is that it's still running after 2 weeks outside. I know the power converter and the Pi generate heat, so that will likely limit the system's longevity in my application. I considered mounting a waterproof 5V power converter outside the box for heat reasons, but that got too problematic when trying to use a standard POE+ power injector on the house side.

not 100% sold
cooling fan is excellent, POE hat works.. but "said" it wasn't getting 5a from my POE+ switch to power it. Buy with a bit of caution, but over all I was pleased.

Just what I was looking for, great NVME and PoE+ HAT
Fits perfect onto the Pi 5. Good quality vs. price ratio. After cloning existing OS from SD card to NVME drive, boot is just instant. HAT supports pcie Gen 3 speeds, in my case handles 1TB LEXAR NM620. PoE+ supply is silent, no whining sounds. Some reviews on the Internet mention Pi is rebooted by the HAT after powering down, making it impossible to power-off. As for June 2025 I didn't notice such effect on mine. After powering off, Pi stays shut down and can be rebooted by pressing the power button.

Great idea, Great service, still working things out...
Why did you pick this product vs others?:This has the potential to help consolidate and organize most setups. The free active cooler helped the deal, however, after troubleshooting for a few hours this weekend I seriously think this shorted out my board. I've been on the forms and I'm currently troubleshooting to find out if I can bring it back. I did initiate a return, and I was offered a free replacement that I should have in a week, but until then I'll be working on getting the base board to at least start. I will return if this fails after the new part is installed. I can't say its easy to install yet, but it was easy to connect everything following the instructions. Also, assuming things work out, any recommendations on cases? 7/19/25 Update:Same issue, spent the night troubleshooting, disconnecting reconnecting, and reviewing steps as if I missed something. As soon as I can, just going to get a new board and another Hat, thanks for the follow up.

DAC on top doesn't work
This PoE hat is exceptional. The only issue I have with it is that a HiFiBerry DAC8x won't work mounted on top of it. HiFiBerry states that it should be connected directly to the Pi.It is in no was a deficiency of the PoE hat as it does what it is supposed to do. The addition of the Pi5 fan is a good one.
