Excellent integration into HA. Easy to install. MQTT support.
Are you a Home Assistant user? Interested in monitoring your home's energy consumption? Looking for a scalable solution to track solar energy? Concerned about your budget? Look no further—purchase this SEM monitor NOW.As a dedicated HA user, I sought a user-friendly, optional LOCAL device for tracking our energy usage. I explored common options (which I won't name here, as this product is the best!) but didn't want to rely on cloud integration or soldering to flash the board for local use. I required a straightforward out-of-the-box solution.I accidentally stumbled upon a post in the HA Community boards that highlighted the Fusion Energy SEM monitor and its easy installation, along with speedy email support. I decided to give it a try and waited a few weeks for delivery due to backorder. Setup took around 30 minutes, including connecting it to my network. The mobile app allows for instant toggling with HA using either a cloud or local MQTT broker! Many online scripts and YAML examples are available to streamline entity entry into HA.This product is a superb option if you're searching for a SEM energy monitor that integrates LOCALLY with HA.It works so effectively that I just ordered another unit to monitor my second electrical panel!

One of the best options for smart home energy monitoring
This SEM device is well-designed and seemingly well-built. It includes a dedicated app and supports local Home Assistant integration right out of the box. The CT clamps are notably compact compared to competitors, making them ideal for fitting into tight electrical panels. With guidance from the Home Assistant forum, setting up MQTT entities for the CT clamps and aggregated totals was straightforward. For privacy-conscious users, cloud access can be disabled by blocking the device's internet connection and uninstalling the app. Personally, I appreciate the app's real-time graphs for diagnosing circuit issues. The device seamlessly supports both cloud-based app functionality and local MQTT server integration.I'm sharing a few images: one of the tidied electrical panel, two app screenshots, and three from Home Assistant. One minor drawback is the lack of a knockout grommet for the WiFi antenna; I used a spare from a junction box to resolve this.

Works great with Home Assistant
This is a great device so far. It works as a stand alone device but also integrates with Home Assistant. The app has a Home Assistant section where you can enter your local MQTT server. Note: it took a few hours for the Home Assistant option to appear in the app.The Home Assistant community members made this very easy to get up and running. I don't know if links are allowed so search the Home Assistant community for "Smart Home Energy Monitor by Fusion Energy" if you need help getting it set up. King199 has posted a yaml file (post #85) that you can copy paste to your configuration.yaml file. Then just edit the names to get it working. Also, as of now, the updates to Home Assistant via MQTT are every 30 seconds. You can email support and they can push a firmware update that will send updates every 2 seconds.

Works well
I added this to the panel on my Newmar Dutchstar motorhome. Newmar used a typical home Eaton 8 circuit subpanel with dual pole breakers which allows 12 circuits as well as the 2 pole 50A main breaker. At first i was a little concerned the transformers might not fit, but after getting everything installed I was able to put the cover on the panel without much of an issue. The product works great with their app as well as with my Home Assistant server using the MQTT client. Overall very pleased with it. The only thing about it that made me a little uncomfortable was that the main unit needed to be powered from a breaker on each leg. I tied it to a 15A breaker on each leg. My issue is that they use a small guage wire for power, far below what would be required for 15 amps. I solved the problem by adding inline glass fuse holders on each leg with 2 amp fuses. That gave more peace of mind to protect the small guage wire. Also if you are planning to put this in an RV that uses the combination AC/DC panel, this may be a real challenge getting everything in there, your results may vary. Overall it's been working great and definitely a good alternative to the more expensive monitors.

Outstanding Customer Support
The SEM was easy to install. The installation guide for the app was accurate. The app warned me that the wiring harness black and red wires were on the same line and provided troubleshooting advice. I followed the advice but couldn’t pass the check. So, I ignored it. Then I had a problem with voltage readings be double expected. I emailed customer service on a Friday night. By morning, I had a reply. After nearly real time emails, the engineers diagnosed the problem. The WiFi antenna was touching the metal of the box - my error. A quick adjustment and everything works perfectly! The customer service was professional and extremely responsive. I strongly endorse this SEM.
