Bowers & Wilkins (B&W) : P9 Signature Headphones

At this price I expected Rolls Royce comfort ...sadly this didn’t happen. I had a Bell’s Palsy a few years which hasn’t fully healed meaning pressure on the facial nerve creates discomfort...that translates into an instant comfort tester for any overear headphones. Sadly these just aren’t soft and easy to wear. It looks like B&W have maybe gone a little too much for style over comfort. The sound is remarkable even without letting them bed in for 30 or 40 hours. I’m sending them back to try Sony’s top line headphones instead...they seem to get enthusiastic reviews about comfort and sound. I guess it’s a bit like having a £700 hand made pillow which is a thing of beauty to behold and touch ...but not that comfortable ...would you want to lay your head on it for several hours ?
