Cayenne Pepper 500g (Buy Whole Foods Online Ltd.)

I purchased this thinking I'd save some money as £5.62 for 500g of cayenne pepper delivered works out much cheaper than any of my local stores.Big mistake, this stuff is nowhere near as good as the "real" stuff, whether it's because it's not actually cayenne or because it's very old I'm not sure.I have attached a picture comparing it to a different brand of cayenne pepper (on the right), it doesn't take a genius to figure out which one actually looks like cayenne. A smell and taste test also proves that this is far, far inferior.I was offered a refund (before i opened the bag) as i noted that the colour was off but i would have had to pay return shipping costs (£2.80) so i figured I'd just open it and check it out and if i didn't like it I'd just bin it, which is what I'll probably do now.

The product smells more like paprika and has none of the heat of cayenne. I used this product twice today, for the first (and second) time and both times I experienced none of the experiences of heat you would normally get from cayenne pepper.I bought this as it appeared to be a better deal than the silly little glass jars you buy from the supermarket - but at least with those you don't question what the product actually is.

Good for putting on garden to stop cats fouling as well
