My favorite hair dye!!!
I love this stuff lol. Been using it for years!! I've kept my hair some variation of bright red for many years now, lol my partner likes it so what can I say? And I always come back to this one, honestly. I'll try some other kind every once in a while, because either I can't find this one, or it's all they had at the store I was at and I just didn't feel like searching for it lol. But I always get this one any time it's an option. It's THE BEST. I don't use the bleach, I'll never again let bleach touch my hair after a series of very unfortunate hair choices when I was a teenager lol, and it still leaves my hair looking BRIGHT red. My natural color is like a medium brown with slight auburn highlights, but my hair hasn't been natural since I was like 12 honestly lol. But it was definitely NOT a light color when I first started dying it this color, and while I'm sure it'd be more vibrant if I were to bleach it, I'm definitely happy with it anyway. At this point I've been doing it so long, I'm just basically doing my roots and then just making the rest POP more, because it DOES fade lol. Though not nearly as quickly as say, pink or blue or something hair, it's more permanent. Because of that though it does stain. BADLY lol. My whole entire scalp will be bright ass red for days afterwards lol. It usually takes a few more washes to get it completely out, but then after that it's perfect lol. But yeah it can look a bit weird for a bit after it's first done. I'm sure there are things you can do to like, protect your scalp and keep it from getting dye on it or ways to get it to come off that I just don't know about but yeah, just something to know.My hair is super straight and down past my shoulders, not like, super long, but still down my back slightly, and one box is enough for me. I'll probably start needing to get a second box if I let it get any longer, but for now it's fine, and I could get away with just doing my roots for a super long time before I'd be able to use most of two boxes of it lol. There's a good amount in the box. It's usually really affordable, too. Definitely never paid over $20, and usually not even close to it lol. I can usually find it at Walmart, or Walgreens. So not having to go anywhere special to get it. Anyway I'll keep using this unless I ever find something better lol

It really sticks with you
Some people dont want a color to just..stay, but for me, I've never been able to find a brand that does, they usually wash out in a week or two no matter what I do. It's been weeks now and my hair is still just as vibrant and pink as when I first applied it. Before this I bleached my hair with L'Oréal bleach and toner from what used to be very black hair. And since my hair was black, the bleach didnt exactly turn me the platinum blonde I wanted, but instead a light ginger/brown. I didnt bleach it again, instead, a couple weeks later I quit waiting and decided to apply the pink fetish splat dye, and the pictures below is what I got from dying ginger/brownish hair. I got a little of the dye on my sink and skin, but using rubbing alchohol got it up immediantly, as for my shower, it didnt even stain it. A tiny bit of pink still comes out of my hair after weeks (only in the shower), but never stained anything, which was surprising. If you want a good hair dye that's gonna last and stick with you like I do, I 100% recommend splat as it's probably my favorite brand right now. And I've tried ALOT, especially manic panic and arctic fox, which I 100% DONT reccomend unless you want your color to wash out in a week.

You're turning VIOLET, Violet!
This isn't the first time that I've purchased this kit. The other kit I bought was at my local drug store. The first time that I used it, it was on my son's hair. The lightening bleach worked well on him. He had "virgin" hair at the time and it turned his hair the lightest I've seen it from black. We did have to bleach it again to get it as light as he wanted it, though. We got red for him. It took really well and looked awesome when we were done. Everyone called him "Rufio" from the the movie "Hook". We had no problems with this kit.On to the Blue Envy and my hair....My hair is a lot longer than his, so it took more work and more product. I had to get my hubby to help since I wanted to do my under growth (nape of neck). I used all of the bleach for my under growth and part of the frame of my face. Since part of my hair was already bleached a few months back, those areas got super white. I wish I could get it white like that all the time without having to bleach it so many times. The areas that were naturally black (the out growth), only turned a dark brown as if I went to the beach and the ocean and sun bleached it. Oh well, it ended up being kind of ombre'd from black to dark brown to blue. That part was framing my face and you really can't tell.I washed the bleach out and left it like that for a couple of days since I got busy with other things. I finally had time to use the hair color. Again, I needed my hubby's help.First off, getting the powder into the bottle is a chore! Use a paper to make a funnel to make it a lot easier for yourself.Read the directions and let the mixture set for a minute. It seems to expand a bit and the mixture turns more to a cream consistency.COVER EVERYTHING!!! Hands, ears, neck, shoulders, chair, floor....use a long sleeve shirt if you can. Even my hubby needed a long sleeve shirt. Use old towels or dark towels if you're using a dark dye.RUBBING ALCOHOL will help if you still get some dye on you.THIS STUFF STAINS EVERYTHING!!! and I mean EVERYTHING! Even my dog brushed up against a towel and turned blue.We bought good gloves in a large quantity and used those...BUT the edge of my hubby's very shorts nails still caught on the glove a couple of times in the past and tore it. He now uses two pairs while he dyes my hair. Good thing he did. He would have looked like he robbed a bank!Any little drops will stain. Go outside or cover the floor with a dollar store table "cloth". My hubby used a brush (for applying bleach or color) to apply the color and it splattered tiny dots all over himself, the ground and me. It doesn't matter how careful you are, it's going to get some place you didn't want it. Be sure not to step in it and then walk all over the place - in the house!Since the red that my son used didn't seem to get all over the place in the shower, I figured I'd be fine. I hopped into the shower and arched my back so my hair wasn't touching me. NOPE! Didn't work with this dye. Every other dye I've used, didn't stain my skin like this one did. It didn't matter how much I rinsed my hair out, the water was still pretty dark. I'm glad I had gloves on during that part. Normally, after I do my initial rinse I can take my gloves off and be stain free. But this time.... o.O My hands were blue after shampooing.I also had blue on my ears, cheeks, neck, shoulders, back, arms, my feet, even my nail polish on my toes.I rinsed longer than normal and then applied a conditioner. That that soak in a while longer than normal since I bleached it. Then rinsed again. Still, the water ran blue. By now the other dyes would have ran a tinted blue but still clear.I would suggest rinsing and washing in a sink and then putting your hair up to jump into the shower.I used an old, dark colored floor towel to wrap my hair. I toweled dry and then used a blow dryer so that my wet hair didn't stain my bed.It was so late by now, that my hubby went to bed and I had to ask my daughter to help me. I have a spray bottle with rubbing alcohol in it. She spritzed my back, shoulders and neck and then used cotton pads to wipe off all the blue. I lifted my feet to the sink and sprayed my heels and toes. Lastly, I sprayed and washed my hands. Thankfully, rubbing alcohol does the trick!! A spray bottle makes it handy!!I had an event the next day and I wouldn't want to go out of the house looking like Violet from Willy Wonka!!!The event that we attended was outdoors. It was 97 degrees and we were sweating. I had to put my hair up because if there was any moisture in my hair and it laid on my skin, it would stain. My hubby nearly gave me a friction burn trying to get a line of blue dye off of my neck where a couple of strands of hair wouldn't stay up.I wash my hair every other day and I dread it. I also dread having to blow dry my hair when I do wash it, but I know that if I don't, my damp hair will stain me and my bed. I'm wondering if it'll be like this for the life span of this color or if the transfer will stop. While I love the color it left in my hair, it's way too messy for my taste. The price is nice, but I think I'll probably go back to another dye that I know won't stain everything, including my pillow for weeks to come.
