Great device. Even better customer service!
This little device packs a lot of features although I only need it for temperature and humidity. Setup was straightforward and I was online with the UbiBot Cloud free service in no time. One thing to remember, and the FAQs on this device do point out is the initial setup generates heat so it will take a few minutes for this to settle and for the ambient reading to then start to appear.I had a minor issue with my device to do with the batteries draining quicker than normal. Yang at UbiBot support could not have been more helpful and diagnosed the problem quickly and replaced the unit without fuss. Excellent customer service when I needed it most over and above the fact that the device itself is superb. I look forward to being able to integrate with IFTTT to help trigger smart plug actions to switch on/off my radiator.UPDATE: IFTTT integration now available and it works like a dream - if the UbiBot sensor detects my room temperature is above a set range, instead of just alerting me it now turns off my Meross Smartplug. Similarly if the sensor detects the temperature has fallen below a threshold it can switch my smart plug on. This was the missing link for me and now that its here it makes the device indispensable in helping me mange the temp/humidity without a need to physically be in the room to switch devices off and on. The heater itself has a thermostat but there are no numbers on the dial so I am always guessing. This way I can have a variety of applets for a variety of use cases such as just keeping the cold and dampness away whilst I'm not in the room for an extended period of time or applets that work for me whilst in the room.

Great little product very well designed and delivers what it promises.
I really like this product. It’s nicely designed , very small so is unobtrusive but best of all it works really well and reliably. I have constant contact the environment conditions on board my boat which is very reassuring in winter. User set up is also easy and logical and the output from it and the mobile app is also excellent.

Does what is says it does
Hardware seems spot on. Been using mine for a couple of months now, to remotely monitor the water temperature of our solar powered domestic hot water tank in Cyprus.Initial setup was a little awkward. At first my Android phone app would not locate the Ubibot, therefore I could not get the device to join our wifi network. The instruction leaflet was a little lacking in advice, but the Ubibot phone App did pop up an advice box, which you should read thoroughly. It tells you to TURN OFF cellular data and re-start the setup procedure - and behold, the Ubibot does indeed connect to your phone (at this stage it transmits its own wifi network which you then tell your phone to connect to). Once connected, follow on-screen prompts and the device will be connected to your regular home wifi SSID. From this point on the WS1 will ping Ubibot's own server with a status update (once ever 15 minutes is the default setting). Your phone app (or any other internet browser) can then be logged in to Ubibot's web server, and you can view your WS1's data. The default data update interval is 5 minutes, therefore your WS1 will send 3 lots of data to the server each 15 minutes (but all these defaults can be user configured as desired). So what you see eventually on the server is a continuous history, minute-by-minute, of whichever sensor you are interested in.In my use case, I have the external temperature sensor in my water tank (on the roof of house). This probe came with a 3m lead which I fed under the roof tiles and followed some water pipes down into the loft space. The WS1 sits on the ceiling just adjacent to my loft hatch, so I can access it easily to change batteries. The sensor lead connects to the WS1's micro USB port. That's it! It just works, silently 24/7 doing the job. Excellent.

Superb and reliable device however not what it once was
I got a 2nd device which was listed as WS-1 but is in fact a WS-1A which is a cheaper cut down version of the original sensor, it is missing knock and vibration sensors as a minumum, not sure yet what other differencesOriginal review for WS-1 (not 'A' model)I have this device to give me telemetry from my pump house (private water supply). While not cheap the device is packed full of features, more than I realised when I bought it, so as well as temperature (which is what I needed) I also have light levels and a knock sensor which is potentially handy for me. Another great feature of the device is that it uses USB and/or battery power, so I have it plugged in but in the event of a power cut it will still take readings albeit that it can't send them until the power is restored to the wifi the device is setup for. Another handy feature is the ability to setup triggers on the website or mobile app, so I can set it for example if the pump is running too hot or if the sensor stops sending readings (wifi down)

Brilliant device, app and great customer support
Bought this to monitor my cryptomining farm as I liked the idea of getting alerts when temperatures got too high so I could shutdown equipment remotely. Note that this has to be combined with a smart plug to actually shut the equipment down. It was so easy to setup (on my old iPhone 5C and iPad 2) and I have added temperature probes and powered all sensors apart from the outside one by USB which means no battery issues. The app is really good compared to others allowing pictures to be downloaded to identify where the device are and a great dashboard where you can see the current status of all devices. A more detailed charts section shows temperature, light, voltage, wifi and humidity graphs over a custom or default time period with min and max values.I have contacted Yang who offered support for when the USB splitter for the device was going to be available and discussed app improvements and he got back to me in a matter of hours. I am looking forward to future minor app updates to make this even better.A great device for remote monitoring which is better than anything else I saw available and has not disappointed. I have several of these devices now inside and outside the house (with protective cover) and am very pleased with the results.
