Cold Steel Scottish Broad Sword

The media could not be loaded. Excellent quality and design.Grip is nice and comfortable.It’s a bit on heavy side.All in all good value.Didn’t like the red so I customized it with my Scottish Clan Keith Tartan colors. And got a shoulder sword frog for it since it’s heavy on the belt, the sword disarm loops on body facing side pushes into torso though, may need to bend it away from body or remove it.

Wonderful quality. Arrived quite sharp out of the box.

Keep it in the workshop to protect the kids from the bears and cougars. It’s a silly way to feel safe in the hills but it’ll do the trick

It is on the heavier end of the broadsword spectrum. But, not overly so. Much of the Broadsword's cutting power comes from the weight anyway. It is balanced correctly about 5 or 6 inches ahead fo the guard to add power to the cutting. There was a bit of goop on the cloth as some have complained about. But, it came off easily enough. It came moderately sharp. It is sharpest at the point and dulls toward the guard. The bottom half of the blade is supposed to be for parrying so you don't need it to be sharp. I will likely hone the blade a bit before doing any serious cutting. It was on sale for $180 when I bought it and that was a great deal. Very happy with the price.

This sword seems to be well-built with a nice balance and sharp edges and included a British Proof Test certificate. My main gripe is the gripe which is so rough that I have to wear gloves, but that's a good practice anyway. Also, the base of the pommel digs into the heel of my palm. It would be better if it were rounded.

This sword is beautifully made and sturdy, as one expects from Cold Steel. I did remove the annoying tassels and basket liner (I'll replace with a soft green leather half-liner). Also, be aware that "Cold Steel" is stamped on the locket of the scabbard and the inside of the basket, but this doesn't really detract from the sword's overall appearance. The blade came slightly sharp and could easily be made deadly, but I'll dull the blade as I've no intention of cutting anything with this. I am quite pleased with my purchase.

I like everything about this sword.Everying fits tight the tang is made right.love the style of the sword cuts well,I have other cold steel swords like the English back sword and the Chinese grim sword they all great swords

This is a high quality sword in almost every respect - with an irritating flaw that makes me contemplate returning it.The inside right of the bastket hilt is too tight making the middle knuckle of my hand press against it. It's as if if were made for a left-hander.I'm thinking about trying to pound it out on that spot but an afraid of damaging the basket.
