✅ Moving from the W2 Optimal White heads, the first thing I noticed with the A3 Premium All-in-One was how soft the bristles felt, which is fantastic for your gums. The combination of angled bristles for plaque, triangular tips for surface stains, and longer side bristles to cover more ground and get into tricky spots along the gumline - there is a lot of small details that make this brush a little more premium. It is also silicone backed, so it is softer on your teeth and gums. This is an all-in-one head: it is designed to tackle plaque, stains, and contribute to gum health. Philips claims the A3 removes up to 20x more plaque than a manual brush, compared to the W2's 7x claim, and while numbers are hard to verify personally, my teeth do feel pretty smooth and polished afterwards. Especially as it specifically designed to target plaque at the gum line and between teeth, offering a more thorough clean. These heads clicked securely onto my Sonicare handle, just like the originals, and were instantly recognised by the BrushSync feature. Since each head should last about 3 months, this four pack means I'm sorted for roughly a year, which makes the initial cost feel a bit more reasonable.Although,⛔ The biggest hurdle is the price. These A3 heads are significantly more expensive than the W2 Optimal White heads I was using, and they're right at the top end of the Sonicare range. You're paying a premium for the 'all-in-one' features and the more advanced design.It also helps to understand Philips' naming system when choosing heads. Generally, from my understanding, 'C' stands for Plaque Control (like C2 or C3), 'W' is for Whitening (like the W2 I used previously, or W3), and 'G' is for Gum Care (like G2 or G3). The 'A' in A3 usually means All-in-One. The number often indicates the feature level: '1' series might lack BrushSync, '2' series usually includes it, and '3' series like this A3 are premium versions, often with softer materials or more advanced bristle designs, plus the BrushSync chip. Knowing this helps manage expectations. The A3 is positioned as top tier.

These brushes are as premium as you can get when it comes to quality and cost. The pack includes four A3 soft brushes which are ideal for me especially whilst I am going through an Invisalign treatment and need soft brushes throughout the day after eating. The brush heads are compatible with all Sonicare brushes which makes it easy to pick up without needing to check specific models. Even with these soft brushes, I feel like my teeth and gums feel fresh and clean after each brush.

Prior to this, I hadn't needed to order any new brush heads for my Philips Sonicare 5500, as I was still on the ones that came with it. As my first set of replacement heads, therefore, I was very pleased with the quality.Given the price range these go for, I was expecting something premium and they were. The bristles are nice and firm, and you feel like you're getting a really deep clean. There are parts of my mouth that most toothbrushes struggle with (especially around my wisdom teeth) and these tackle them pretty well.I'm hoping these last for quite a while, but at least they benefit from the indicators to let me know when they're ready for a change.

These handled both deep and surface cleaning better than I expected. Hard-to-reach areas weren’t much trouble, and I didn’t have to press hard or go over spots multiple times. After brushing, teeth felt genuinely clean, almost like they’d been professionally polished. Even after several uses, the bristles didn’t lose shape. I liked that it didn’t feel rough around the gumline either, just firm enough to get into awkward spaces. The design helped me move around without missing corners, and it didn’t feel clunky or oversized. Been using these for a while now and still no complaints with how they perform. Definitely something I’d stick with based on how consistent the cleaning feels across each head.

It's really difficult to say something negative about the brand's own brush, but I just can't see why this is £52 for fourWe are not really meant to take price into consideration when reviewing these but how can you not in this situation? It's a brush, it doesn't last forever, it doesn't magically come and clean my teeth for any longer than any other bristle brush, And it cleans them only as well as the original head that came with the brush! The originals I can no longer find, so perhaps these are a new alternative? They are soft, they are very gentle on the teeth and the gums, and they definitely do feel that my teeth are nice and clean, but for 50 pence a day? If we replace the brush every month, and this is roughly 4 months worth, then you can do the mathsThe fit well, they do what a brush does, but I'm not blown away

These brush heads are so well made, they have a great blend of bristle types and textures, that whilst soft still manage to clean exceptional well.The whole brush head is surrounded by a soft silicone “bumper” that provides great protection to sensitive gums whilst brushing and avoids the accidental hard plastic knocks that can happen with cheaper alternatives.Changing the brush at the recommended 3 monthly intervals gets you a years use per pack. I often eke out a bit longer from each brush head with the occasional soak in Milton to keep them clean.

Ive used Philips electric toothbrushes for many years now but have never tried this type of toothbrush head so I was interested. They attach nice and easy as any other within the Philips brand and so far have lasted me very well, 4 weeks and still going strong. They are softer heads so feel much gentler on my agitated gums, I'm told when I use a manual toothbrush I brush too hard so this combined with an electric is much better. Even though it is soft it feels like it cleans differently to my current standard heads and my teeth feel great after.I did take a star off for the expensiveness of the item but all in all they are very good.
