I know the brand SMALLRIG from owning few of their adapters and mounts for photo/videography, so when I saw this coiled USB C data cable, I didn’t hesitate to go for it.This cable is a great upgrade as my current coiled cable is limited to 20W; this cable is rated up to 100W and data transfer speed up to a blazing 20 Gbps.Another plus is that the connector housings are metallic i.e. not plastic, and angled making this cable just suitable for using out in the field.Together with the discount voucher, you can’t go wrong with this cable.

I already own a few Smallrig products, so I knew what to expect from this cable when I ordered it. The cable is one of those coiled ones, so it stretches only as long as you need it to, thus preventing the cable spaghetti that normally ensues.The cable is very high quality, and the fact it can deliver 100W of power and also tranfer data means it's a truly universal kind of cable. I do photography and filmmaking, so this kind of coiled cable is a godsend because we cinematographers hate cables trailing everywhere.

I'm a big fan of Smallrig photography products so thought I would give this cable a chance.Quality is good and transmission speeds as far as I can tell match advertised specs.The only caveat I can think of is that being coiled it has a lot of tension and if you are considering to connect anything lightweight at a distance that requires the coils to stretch, don't!I tried with a laptop and a portable monitor, even side by side the two were puled into each other.How I Rate- ***** Don’t think, just buy it!- **** Nothing to complain about, I’d spend my own money on this.- *** Does what it should but there may be better alternatives- ** Problems or issues encountered that outweigh any benefits.- * Run for the door!Whilst I do sometimes include photos and videos in my reviews, due to time constraints this will only be when I feel that doing so would serve a purpose in demonstrating how an aspect of the product works or fails.I only order Items that I or my family have a genuine use for and as such you can be sure that they are tested in real world warts and all situations. The cable comes in a secure envelope with info sticker on the outside. The cable is a good quality usb-c to usb-c with stretchable coil in the centre and angled connectors to prevent strain. I love that it has broad compatibility, fast charge and data transfer. I tested with transferring files from my Prograde card reader to my iPad Pro; everything worked fast as it should. Very happy with this and highly recommend it.

Normally I'm all for Smallrig stuff and their clamps are first rate.This cable didn't transmit at 20Gbps that I've been able to verify. Testing using a known good Samsung 970 Evo 500GB SSD in a 10Gbps USB-C enclosure. I tested with my usual 10Gbps cable and got around 1000Mbps reads but not with this Smallrig cable which topped out at only 547Mbps.I've seen issues where the orientation of the USB-C connector can impact data transfer rates but tried all 8 permutations and only managed 540Mbps or so...Construction seems robust as I've come to expect from Smallrig. Connectors are decent and strain relief looks up to the task. If I could get closer to the claimed 20Gbps I'd have no hesitation awarding all 5 stars.
