Voigtlander VC Meter II Shoe Mounted Speed Light Meter - Black

The meter is decent, seems to be a cross between an ambient and spot. Problems are the device shoe connection is loose (no lock) and the device falls off and the battery compartment opens and the batteries scatter. There needs to be a lock for the shoe and the battery compartment should also lock. I'm using mine on a Canon 6d with Medium formate Carl Zeiss lenses. The devices is accurate maybe under exposes a little. So you need to tape the battery compartment or buy lots of batteries.

I love old rangefinder 35mm cameras, and many of my favorite ones are meter-less. I could carry a hand-held meter, but having one on the camera shoe is really handy. I have two of these Voigtlander VC Speed Meter II meters, and I love them. Easy to use, reasonably accurate and consistent between the two. One on the Leica M3 with ISO 400 film and one on the Kiev 4 with ISO 100 film ... perfect gear for an outdoor photo outing!

One of the first parts of a classic rangefinder film camera to fail is the light meter, if it even came with one. Expensive cameras such as Leica and Zeiss Ikon can become unusable without a light meter to select the precise shutter speed and aperture. This small device slides into a camera's accessory shoe and uses LEDs to indicate the best settings. It is light, small and much easier to use than a hand-held light meter. If you collect and use classic rangefinders, this little device will come in very handy.

A very well-built, tiny meter. The shoe mount is adjustable for different cameras. I also have the earlier VC 1 version, and it has continued to work well for many years. Battery life is excellent. Seller, Cameraquest, was extremely fast on shipping.

I bought three of these, one is on a Fuji gx680, One is on a Wista RF and the third is on A Horseman VH-R. Very accurate, easy to use.
