New to the hobby!
I am very new to the RC car hobby. I work at a recreation center and I'm always looking for something that the kids would like to do at the center. We started with model cars, and then I remembered that I had an RC car as a kid and liked playing with it. I ordered 6 cheaper RC cars which ended up being a hit with the kids, and has got me started in the hobby. I'm not the best person to give an in-depth review about every part and wire of this RC car, and all I have is the first 6 cheaper ($14 per car) RC cars to compare this one to.I ordered this RC car because I wanted to see how well the more expensive RC cars function. This RC car arrived in it's own case and packed nicely in foam. I immediately noticed the weight of the car and that the body was metal and not plastic like the others. The design of this car closely resembles a real car, and you can see and feel that the quality is above average. The controller is easy to use and takes 2 AA batteries to operate and control the car. There are 3 buttons on the controller that control the lights and they allow you reverse the way you control the car (pulling the trigger makes the cat go in reverse instead of forward, and you can switch how you turn L/R).There are a some issues and a couple things I expected to be included that weren't. I have some issues with controlling the car but that is due to me still figuring out the controller and I'm still learning how to drift. With that said, there are some issues that are not due to me still learning. The car sounds like something is grinding when you turn, my guess is it has something to do with the weight of the metal body pushing down on something. Another thing I'm not a fan of and might be due to the weight of the body is the speed, I thought this car would be faster. The car also doesn't respond right away when you try to reverse, it takes a few pushes of the trigger before it will reverse.Overall, I do like this RC car and it seems like a good quality car, but it is overpriced in my opinion. At this price I expected to receive at least an extra battery and a set of rubber tires like I did with the $14 cars I purchased. I also feel it should be faster and not have grinding sounds and issues with reversing at this price so I did take a star.
