Harvey 017065 Gas Line PTFE Thread Seal Tape

This is excellent gas pipe tape. I got an outside grill, with natural gas, so I can connect it to the house and not worry about having to go and fill, or exchange propane tanks. I like that propane burns hotter than natural gas, however it convenience of having it plugged into the house is increxible. I used this to seal the end of the quick release adapter for my gas grill. It's worked perfectly for years. 5 stars.

I had to replace a gas solenoid valve on my Coachmen Capri travel trailer. I also replaced the regulator and pigtail hoses. This tape worked great on the fittings that needed the tape. I had read that gas line tape is thicker and made specifically for gas line. This product seemed well reviewed. I didn't use any of it on the flare fittings but I used it on the straight gas line threaded connections (distribution hose into regulator, gas line feed into gas valve and gas valve output orifice. The pigtail hose connections to the regulator are flare fittings and do not require any tape. I put about four wraps of this tape on the threads being sure to leave at least a couple of threads without tape near the junction. This product worked great. Bubble test revealed no leaks and my nose didn't smell any tracer, either.

Needed the tape for a new propane line to a free-standing heater. The tape seemed a little thicker than others that I have used, but it sealed the joints perfectly. No leaks on any of the joints. Because it is yellow in color, I can tell the joints that I used this tape on, and do not have to worry about them. Good threaded joint sealing tape. Would buy again.
