No, they are an average thickness.

Q: I may be missing it, but how wide is the waistband?

There is hardly a waistband at all! They’re very comfortable for me. The fabric is really soft too.

Q: are these slick enough that tunics and doggie hair won't cling to them? (the navy blue)

They are pretty slick and I am sure the tunic would not cling. I have a yellow lab whose shedding is crazy and her hair definitely shows up on the black pair. I have a pair of leggings that are a different brand that are worse and I am very happy with these leggings
