LOVE this eyeliner!
I love this product. I have had not been successful using pencil, or gel stick types of eyeliners. I used cake for many years and don't really know why I stopped. But I am so glad to have it again and the brush is great too. I like the espresso color and it stays on well.

Small
Works fine but not more than my cheaper ones. Quantity very small.

So far, wonderful replacement for Clinique's!
I, like many others, was so frustrated when Clinique discontinued their solid water based eyeliner. Out of curiosity and some positive reviews I thought I'd try this one. It goes on very nicely using my old Clinique tiny brush (their brush is ridiculous, toss it). Will see how it lasts throughout the day and let you know tomorrow. Well,it lasts just the same as Clinique. Need to contact the company to add a proper thin brush with it but buy it~

Absolutely lovely color, but pigment could be finer and use a different medium
I absolutely love the color of this eyeliner, amethyst, it's quite beautiful and does amazing things for my hazel eyes. Unfortunately, the pigment is not as finely ground as it could be, and whatever base they are using does not produce a smooth line. Even with a large amount of water and much mixing, the pigment separates a bit from the medium as you apply the liner. I have worked around it by doing two layers, sometimes three, but I don't want heavy raccoon eyes at the office, either. They could possibly fix this by grinding the pigment to a finer consistency and using a different medium. It does last a long time once you get it on, so it has that going for it.

Goes on even and smooth
I have struggled finding an eyeliner I like for years. Gel eyeliner always goes on unevenly and I’ve tried the pot type of liner you apply with a brush and similar issue, the texture just made it hard to apply evenly. So then I tried liquid liners but the accuracy required was beyond me besides how hard it was to get low enough on the lash line so I didn’t have a line of skin tone showing below the liner. I gave up for a long time and just used mascara but really just wanted something to tint the outside edge of my eyes for a liiiitle more definition, I don’t have very thick lashes as is. I had totally forgotten about cake eyeliner and randomly remembered that I used to just use eyeshadow this way sometimes. Did a quick amazon search and decided on this one a little arbitrarily (partially because it came with a brush) but tried it as soon as I opened the package and I love it. The application is even and smooth and the brown color is perfect to give some definition without being too dramatic.

Clumps and doesn’t mix with water well.
I very rarely write reviews, but this stuff is useless. For more than a decade, I used Studio gear cake eyeliner with no trouble. They stopped making it, and initially I figured all cake eyeliners were the same. I bought some cheap Pure Ziva and it seemed to clump and not flow smoothly. Then I tried this, that cost about three times as much. It is much worse. It doesn’t mix well with water, so you have to draw the line over and over in order to not get the spots that it misses.I went back to using the pure Ziva brand. I don’t especially like it, but it’s better than this stuff.

Even better than Clinique's Waterproof Liner
Like a lot of people, I discovered this liner when I was disappointed that Clinique was discontinuing my favorite cake eyeliner. I thought I should take a chance. And I'm so glad. It mixes more easily than the Clinique version and is just as long-lasting. Like others, I use my tiny Clinique brush to put it on. The brush that comes with the liner is awkward and completely useless. I'm not even sure how it's intended to be used. Michael Marcus should reconsider their brush. Other than that, it's a home run. If you loved Clinique cake liner, grab this one. (But don't throw away your Clinique brush.)

Great cake eyeliner. But not good for my eyes
I do believe this is a very good cake eyeliner. It goes on very nice and to make sure you do not add too much water. I had used cake eye liners for years & when I seen the Michael Marcus cake eyeliner just had to get because I have not seen cake liners for years. Now it is cream, gel, pencil & pens. I had it in grey which I liked, not too bold. I had to send it back as it made my eyes burn & itch terrible. Has to be a ingredient in it that does not like eyes. I have noticed through the years my eyes have gotten more sensitive to eye make up. Unless they are putting more different irratating chemicals in products today. But it would have been a good cake liner to use. Not like gels or pens you can not get too much on the brush. Did not use the brush, I like to use my fine thin brush.
