Great Product But Disappointing Customer Service
Based on its design features and smooth quiet operation this garage door operator should be 5 stars but Nortek, the manufacturer, needs to fix how they handle orders, pack their products, write their instructions, recommend installers, and handle constructive criticism.1) Amazon had the operator shipped directly from Nortek's MS warehouse. That was fine except it took Nortek over 3 weeks to send the unit out the door. Based on the incorrect tracking data Amazon provided there are also communication problems between Amazon and Nortek.2) Nortek did not double box or properly seal the unit for shipment. When UPS delivered the shipping box both top and bottom sides of the box were open. Fortunately none of the contents had fallen out during shipment.3) The "new" unit that Nortek shipped based on the serial number was almost a year old. Nortek's Technical Support told me that the unit was barely within warrantee.4) The wall station included with the operator was an analog MMW100 instead of the correct digital Smart Control MMW200 Wi-Fi model. Nortek sent a replacement but did not apologize for the error.5) When I asked Nortek for an authorized installer they told me that they don't have "authorized" installers because most units are homeowner installed. They gave me a list of area garage door installers but when I called them I learned that none had ever installed a Might Mule door and most of would not install a customer furnished operator. I found an installer but he had no Might Mule experience or training. He made numerous mistakes.6) When I spoke to Technical Support about the parts that my installer had failed to install and properly lube they told me not to worry because the drive belt and related parts had a lifetime warrantee. Concerning the fact that the belt clamp had not been lubricated they told me to lube the sprocket. I told them that this recommendation differed from the instructions and seemed dead wrong because you should not lube the drive belt. They again told me not to worry because the belt had a lifetime warrantee. If and when I needed drive belt related replacement parts they would be furnished free of charge.7) No ware in the installation instruction does it mention that for the Smart Control MMW200 to work your Wi-Fi router must be configured for single 2.4GHz. The app will not work on a mesh or shared configured dual band router. The Nortek Technical Support team told me that they were aware of the necessary router configuration requirement when the MM9000 series operators were first introduced but neither the online product description nor instructions reflect this requirement. When I suggested to Dominic my Technical Support contact that the company should take steps to correct this omission he became belligerent. He told me that this was an Engineering and/or Marketing Department problem not a Technical Support problem. He told me not to tell him how to do his job.

Mighty Mule - at the intersection of quality, innovation and affordability
I recently replaced my 25 year old Craftsman garage door opener with the Mighty Mule and the experience, top to bottom, has been exceptional. The Mighty Mule is a high-quality product, that offers superior (smart) technology at an affordable price.Product Quality: this was evident from the moment I unboxed the product. The railings are made of high quality material that are heavy but not too heavy during installation. The casing around the unit, likely, is made of high quality material that also has a good weight and feels almost indestructible. In comparison to my old Craftsman, the dials and controls are well-built and easy to understand. No multi-colored wires or symbols that offer little to no information as to what they do or where they go.Lighting: I am amazed at the sheer brightness of the lighting produced by the unit. It is thoughtfully bright and has completely replaced the need for us to use our fluorescent lighting when we need light in the garage. What's neat is that as bright as the light is, it's not at all blinding. The lighting switch is part of the control unit and is easily accessible. The control unit itself is partially illuminated which makes finding the light simple when entering the garage. This is definitely one of our favorite features of the unit.Technology: this, aside from the ease of installation, is the hallmark feature of the Mighty Mule. The ability to control the unit from either my phone or smart watch is something to be envied. Setting up the unit to work on my home wireless network was a breeze. So too was setting up the unit to work on the app (both smart watch and phone). This process works smoothly and I have yet to experience any issues. We recently had to let a neighbor into the garage while we were on a cruise and were able to do this using the app. Moreover, the app offers some general information, such as whether the door is opened or closed, for how long, as well as the same for the light.Operation: this unit is so quiet that I can no longer hear the garage door being opened when I'm in the house. The unit moves the door at a modest clip but does so steadily and extremely quietly. Be sure to use some lubricant (i.e. WD-40) on the rails during installation to ensure a quiet and smooth operation.Assembly: I was surprised at the ease of installation. The packing is done in a way that allows you to logically move through the assembly process without having the entire contents of the box sprawled all over your garage. There are two sets of instructions - one being a quick guide and the other being a more detailed guide. I would suggest reading the detailed guide first and then use the abbreviated guide during assembly. All told, the installation process took roughly 3 hours, and I am not mechanically inclined.Overall, this is an excellent product for anyone looking to replace or upgrade their garage door opener with a product that solidly delivers on quality and technological capabilities while not breaking the bank. Carve out a weekend afternoon and enjoy the transformation!

Quiet operation, bright LED for garage
Quiet and smooth operation of the garage door. Only complain is the wall unit can only accept 2.4 GHz and will not interact with the 5GHz. Even my router has both bandwidth, it still cannot link to my router and I could not interact with my garage opener with my smart phone!

App does not work and has not worked for approx. 3 months WITH NO SUPPORT ON SOFTWARE
This garage door is great... the problem the app stopped working and when calling the tech department they told me 3 months ago they were updating the software.Mighty mule dropped my case# (lost it) and when asked what was being done they said they don't know anything about it.There is no way to get ahold of a person unless you email them. The supervisor is Max Kilman they say but they can't transfer any calls to him...Sounds Shady? Yes it does.AMAZON IS NOT SELLING IT ANYMORE EITHER.DON"T DISAPOINTED BY SOMTHING BETTER THAN MIGHTY MULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!DAVID D. DEAN
