Use automatic dishwashing detergent without bleach or citrus additives. However, before first use, hand wash your cookware with warm, sudsy water and dry thoroughly. Use a liquid dishwashing detergent and a non-abrasive sponge or soft bristle brush. For better cooking results, preheat the pan using the setting you intend to use when cooking, before adding butter or oil. We recommend not using aerosol cooking sprays as they contain a chemical propellant that is difficult to remove. Instead, use an oil mister with olive or vegetable oil, or dab a bit of oil on a paper towel and carefully wipe the interior of the pan. After cooking, allow pans to cool completely before washing. The 8.5 qt has a 12 inch diameter
I bought the 8.5 qt for its large size. I already had a large set of Calphalon Premier Space Saving pans that were 8" and 10" diameter. Nowhere in this listing could I find the sizing. I know now that it has a 12 inch diameter in the 8.5 qt model and it does not stack neatly with the others because it is wider. It does match my other pans in style and the performance is amazing so I would have bought it anyway.

Beautiful!
I absolutely love this pot!!! It’s beautiful, super easy to clean and cooks very evenly. I’m still getting used to the lid not having a knob in the middle. It makes it a little tricky to take the lid off & stir without having to actually set the lid down. But I still highly recommend and am looking forward to purchasing more from this line of Calphalon cookwear!

Disappointed!
Handle broke off while washing by hand. Didn't seem like it was welded on properly. Contacted Calphalon and got the run around. Very disappointed since I spent nearly $1,000 on an entire set and accessories.

Not Disappointed
Great pot but the lid is cumbersome to remove while cooking. I prefer a lid with a handle on top, even though stacking/storage is better with a flat lid like this one.

Best pot ever
Very easy to cook with and to clean it’s a little heavy but I don’t mind that! Does not stick and I’ve been using it for a while and no scratches

Great look and size
Love the size and look of this Dutch oven. My aunt has the same one so I knew it was exactly what I wanted. I’ve since ordered an 8” skillet and chefs pan and plan to get the 12” everyday pan also.

A solid space saving alternative
While the non traditional cover might scare you , it actually works quite well, and I even prefer it over the domed cover style. The pot itself is quite versatile and sees a bunch of use after our last calphalon non stick pot of a similar make wore out .
