Great outcome
The product combo worked great. Solved the problem. Not easy to shape perfectly, not easy to sand resulting in a very professional outcome. Expensive, but saves us from having to replace a beam. I recommend this product.

Love this product
This is the best stuff ever. Everything needed is included in the box. I found this very easy to use and I am not a handy person. The directions are simple yet complete. Product worked amazing. I cannot say enough good things about this.

Lifesaver! I'm 67 and had no problem handling this.
Unable to find a handyman who will do "small" projects like this and when I do get an estimate they suggest replacing the entire door (i.e. they don't want the job). Thanks to YouTube suggesting videos repairing rotting wood, this product came up quite a bit. So, I watched tons of videos watching how it's applied. Every one had a valuable tip that came in very handy and then I took the leap and gave it a try. The prep took a long time as this is a North-facing door and getting enough of a dry spell to feel the timing was right ate up quite a few weeks. Working with the wood hardener and the epoxy was not bad at all. It took quite a bit of epoxy to fill the deep holes I had but, for an older lady with a ton of patience, I'm happy with the way it turned out. Highly recommend!

Works great - far superior to the alternatives
I had used this for a few years and found it to be effective and relatively easy to work with. But people kept talking about Bondo and Bondo-like fillers, so I thought I'd give them a try. What a mistake - they're incredibly malodorous and have a ridiculously short working time (by the time I mixed it thoroughly I only had a couple of minutes working time!). When you're repairing rotten wood, you need time to get it into the cracks and mold it to shape - a few minutes won't do.When I came back to the Abatron system, it was like heaven. Sure, it takes some experience to learn the ins-and-outs of working with it, and it doesn't adhere to surfaces without quite a bit of manual labor, but the fact that it barely has an odor, is very sandable, and holds up over time, makes it worth the expense. Sometimes you have to try the alternatives before you know what you really have!

Worked well
I had a railroad tie in steps up to our porch that had a section rotted out. We will replace it eventually but I was worried someone would trip on it until we had it replaced. I used this product to fill in the hole and it did the job. Follow the instructions, pretty easy to use. I just wish it wasn't so expensive.

Excellent product. Performed better then expected
Excellent product. Performed better then expected. Needed it to repair some rotted and loose wood. Had a storm door that got caught in the wind and "ripped" the screws and mounting mechanism that attached to the wooden door frame right out of the frame along with a long piece of wood about an inch wide at the bottom to 1/2 inch wide at the top and 7 inches long, 3/4 inch deep. Rather then replace the entire exterior door and frame (which would have been very expensive as the door has decorative glass panels) I used this product to fill the new gaping hole.If you have not used this product, simply mix the two components in equal amounts. It creates what feels like a light "foamy" material. Upon first use, I thought this stuff will really not work so I mixed the material, filled in the bad spot of the door, and also made a "foam" ball to see how it would be in the morning. The next day, the ball was still light, however, hard as a rock. I was quite surprised. The material put into the gaping hole in the door frame hardened as well and it adhered quite nicely. I took a pad sander to it and sanded it smooth. Then primed and painted it and you can't even tell a repair was made. I have also used this to fill in an area of rotted plywood flooring and again, it worked great. I like the fact that is it pliable, sort of like Play-Doh, and you can mold and shape it.Bottom line is I found a product that I really like and will again as it works great. My background is also in home remodeling and I can think of 1000 uses for this product.Reviewed by G. Swanson.

Can’t even tell difference from original
Large repair by someone not known for handiness, with sone sanding and patience and what was quoted as thousands to replace a beam cost me the price of this product and some sanding supplies. The hole was quite big and long when I was done getting the rot out, which really was easy to spot the end of it (it became hard and not easy to scrape off), and then I followed instructions and boom the dry rot is no more nor can anyone even see where the fix was. I can’t say I’d use this for a job involving rot all over, given it is a nuanced structural rot repair item, I’d probably go with something more capable of large scale mixing and less thick so I could slap it all over the place for a reasonable price…but for a specific deep repair it is top notch.
