If you’re treating a fish with copper use copper power not Cupramine!
With all my Hannah’s I have a water resistant laminated yellow instructions card. This kit did not come with one…kind of annoying. But besides that -I was one of those people who lucked out for years and never got Ich in my Reef tanks. Well after losing 8 fish in 2 days I rushed to setup a QT tank. My LFS sold me Cupramine and the copper test by Seachem. DO NOT USE EITHER OF THESE PRODUCTS IF YOU CAN PREVENT IT. You cannot switch copper treatments once started….The reason I stress this is bc therapeutic levels of copper with Cupramine is .5+ PPM max of .8PPM. Copper power is 2.50PPM. This means you have a VERY small window of error for dosing, we’re talking the difference of 3-5 DROPS of Cupramine can put you in therapeutic levels or drop you below meaning you need to restart your QT. Imagine my frustration when I was on day 10 of 14 when my Hannah checker showed up and I tested my water and I was at .35 but my Seachem test told me I was at .5 - .6….now I have to put my fish through another 2 weeks of treatment. Incase you are unaware as I was when I started this whole quarantine lesson….when treating a fish for Ich and some other diseases Copper is rough on the fish, it burns their gills which is why you must slowly raise levels over the course of days. Hope you don’t accidentally squeeze the bottle too much or too little or add a little too much water to top off without forgetting to dose it….which is why I wish I knew to use copper power prior to beginning copper quarantine.I have 5 Hannah checkers including this one I just received. The Hannah is very accurate I use them for Alkalinity, Nitrate HR, Calcium, Phosphate HR, and now Copper HR. I follow the same strict procedures with all my Hannah tests, always store your vials with RODI water and rinse them throughly when you’re done with your tests so you don’t stain the glass. I never store with tap water to prevent calcium build up, it’s not necessary but why risk it?Also -I used Nitrofurazone or Furan - 2 while using copper treatment, it works as a disinfectant and makes the fish suffer less while going through treatment easing their irritation. It also works well on its own for certain ailments, if you can find it for a reasonable price buy it and save it incase you need it!!!!

It works1
I have struggled with a copper generated pool using a built in unit with ozone geneorater and a solar floater. None of the dip strip, or color changing liquid systems, or even the Lesie store gave consistent results making magement very difficult. This does give reliable result which are consistent when you FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS exactly or it will be frustrating, it takes a little practice to Amazon.comgure it. Finally, it was not chearp. For me, it is worth it. Repacement test powered available for about $19 on Amazon

Great product, quality construction and very accurate!
Purchased a fish at Petsmart, which brought ICH to my aquarium. Ugh! Treated aquarium with copper immediately. I was able to maintain my copper levels with total accuracy for 30 days and ich is gone. This product allowed me to maintain accurate levels throughout the entire time. I would most definitely recommend this product.

Kind of a mixed bag.
This was great for giving accurate results above 1ppm. When I tried to test a tank that had copper previously but had been cleaned and run with cuprisorb the numbers were all over the place. Just to check it's accuracy I tested a tank that had never had any copper and it showed 0.2 ppm. So, essentially this is useless for telling if you have successfully elimated copper from a system but is great for getting the actual therapeutic levels right when treating fish. I wouldn't really consider this a good value either as it only ships with a useless amount of reagent packets, I think like 4. You'll have to buy more and they're around $15 here on Amazon. $70 to test copper semi accurately is not anything I'm blown away buy. BUT there are no competitors really so they can do what they want.

Test reagents not supplied with the item.
Everything looks good except for not receiving the 6 test reagents that come with the checker. I was expecting to receive these so I can keep testing QT until my package of 25 comes in.
