Black seed comes from a plant and it definitely has an after taste. I liked SprinJene's earlier toothpastes better as compared to now when they made them organic. If you're one of those who like foamy toothpastes then this isn't for you. But, products itself is great and I am recommend it if you can tolerate as aforementioned

Yes, it has a mildly minty flavor.

Q: Do they make one without mint?

This toothpaste definitely has a minty flavor and smell; I'm not sure which ingredient gives it that flavor, but I don't see mint in the list of ingredients. If you are looking for a completely odor free and flavor free toothpaste I recommend Cleure original toothpaste.
