Hard bristles
The bristles are harder than I expected. I had one of these brushes before and it was softer and more flexible. But I really like the feature of removing the bristles for cleaning.

Sharp and scratchy against the scalp
As you can see from the photo I’ve provided, in which I have placed these brushes side by side with two regularly sized brushes, they are smaller than normal, and their handle is not nearly as sturdy. My understanding is that the typical reason that most consumers purchase this type of brush is to detangle thick, curly hair. I have thick hair, but it is short and it is not curly, so that is not my motivation. The main reason I wanted this type of brush is because it does not have tiny, round, plastic caps on the end of each plastic bristle, as is apparently the case with all other brushes with plastic bristles. Inevitably, those little, plastic caps pop off, and once they do, the bristles are painfully sharp, potentially causing micro-abrasions of the scalp. As a result, the brush becomes useless, plastic waste.Because this style of brush does not have those type of tips, there is no danger of its becoming useless within a few weeks, or a few months at most. Unfortunately, from day one, the bristles of this particular brush are almost as sharp and scratchy as a regular plastic brush with bristles which are missing their tiny, plastic-ball tips. What a disappointment!

I love it
Goody products are hard to find where I live. I’m so glad that amazon has a few goody products, but more variety would be nice.

Great brush for blow drying sections of hair
Unfortunately discontinued by Goody so pay a premium price! This brush has the good plastic bristles which don’t get tangled and stuck in your hair like the bristles with little balls on the ends. Very useful for blow drying sections of hair. Should have bought 2!

Not as good as my one from a few years ago
I had one of these that I bought 4+ years ago and finally the rubber started breaking. However this one just isn’t the same. A few of the bristles broke off within the first few uses. Still like this brush as it has not little plastic cover tips that break off or catch my hair. And the fact it comes out and is easy to clean is great.

I was pretty sure I found a match
I was looking to replace a similar Goody brush and couldn't find one in any store. When I found this multi-pack on Amazon, I was pretty sure I found a match. The company sent the item out quickly and the box arrived in tact and well packaged. When I opened the box and checked the brushes closely, I realized it wasn't an exact match, but very close. As mentioned by others, this brush doesn't have the little balls on the end of the tines, which is exactly what I wanted. It is a good brush for those with thick hair. Also like other reviewers claim, the tines on this brush are sharper than the original, so it does "bite" a bit on the scalp, but nothing you can't work around by being just a little gentler at the scalp area when brushing. Even though the rubber isn't as hefty as the original, it looks to be solid, so I suspect these will last a few years and am pleased with the purchase

Best tool I've found for my daughters' natural hair.
I've heard so much about the Denman brush being an excellent tool for curly thick natural hair, but when I saw that Goody offered 3 brushes for the price of one Denman brush; I couldn't pass on the savings. My hair is long, thick and curly. After I washed my hair I was able to detangle my hair so easily. One of my daughters has tight curls, and she is very tender headed. After I conditioned her hair I used this brush and she said it didn't hurt. I've been using it on her and my other daughter every wash day. It makes doing their hair soooooo much easier. My friend came over to do my hair and she brought her Denman brush, I told her I had something similar, she couldn't tell the difference between the two. These brushes would've received 5 stars, but I gave them 4 because the rubber base slips out when you brush wet hair, but it is easy to put back together. My only regret about these brushes, is not buying them sooner.

These are not their ancestor!
I bought one of these brushes, or perhaps the precursor to this brush, back in the early 1990s, so it says a lot about the quality and durability of that brush that now, more than twenty years later, I am looking for a replacement. My wife purchased one about fifteen years ago, and that one, which *looks* very similar to these, is also of better quality (though the rubber is worse quality than my old one). These new ones are okay if you don't know any better, but a big disappointment if you do! The rubber tine base is pretty low quality, and I do not expect it to last more than a few years (dry out, crack, peel, etc.). The tines are decidedly sharper than the old ones, so they don't feel as nice on the head (more apt to poke than soothe). For the price, they do the job. I'll keep looking for something else (is there even a great quality version of this out there?) the next time I need to replace a hairbrush.

Goody Straight Talk Rubber Styler Brush
Nice bristles, I thought it could be a bit bigger though.

Only one, not three
Rec'd only one brush, so really not good value. Feels cheaply made and bristles are a bit scratchy; might be ok if you actually got three.

Bristles breaks easily!
Don't buy because the quality of this brush is bad. I received 3 and each of them did not last long at all. Very disappointed because I had previously given it a decent review. Little did I know after a few months the bristles would start to break.
