I bought this camera for a trip I took to Belize. I knew I'd be trekking around in jungles, rivers, caves and ocean reefs. Thankfully, the Nikon AW130 stayed strong and never leaked or failed to shoot. The battery life was good, but not exceptional. I carted around an extra battery and was glad I did. Depending on what you're doing, expect between an hour to 90 minutes of use before the battery needs to be changed.The "stabilized" video this camera takes is shaky and non-stabilized video is unwatchable. The overall quality of recorded video is medium at best and is definitely worse than what you'd get from a dedicated consumer-level hand held video camera. The sound quality is nothing to write home about either.As far as photographs go, I'd give this camera a medium to poor rating. Despite keeping the lens filter clean, the photos were full of digital artifacts, mediocre pixelization and the camera never adequately impressed me on its ability to prioritize shutter speed over aperture. Unless you are taking a quick snapshot of a person standing directly in front of the camera, the flash is more or less useless. The lack of a manual override mode left me in a lot of situations where I would normally be able to take a great photo into one where the camera simply couldn't cope.Knowing its limitations, as a toss-around weekend travel camera, the Nikon AW130 isn't THAT bad. Don't expect to make nice large prints from anything you shoot with this, and unless you use a tripod underwater, keep your marine masterpiece expectations low.Full disclosure: I used to be a wedding photographer and have gone through about 25 pro lenses and a dozen cameras in the last 30 years, so my standards are rather high. This camera filled a niche that needed to be filled and it's fun to play around with. Given that, a three star review seems to be fair.

I just got it but so far I love it! Clear pictures, quick release. Can't wait to test it out in the water while on vacation!

This will be my third AW130 with the other 2 reaching untimely dimises. This international version replays video at fast forward speed and no way to correct it. The scenes are auto select only. I selected no flash on diving but the flash is still there. can't turn it off. I will go to Nikon for warranty work.

Camera controls are small and clunky. I expected better picture quality. Battery life is not great.

Real cool

It is in general a very good camera, and I had before the ASW 110. After three years water came in during snorkeling, and that was it. The AW 130 stopped function after only 2 weeks, could not switch it on again ... So I sent it back and received my money.

Excellent little camera, very handy with its GPS and wifi capabilities. This is my second one as the first got stolen but was so impressed I bought it again.

Obviamente no es una réflex, pero cumple perfectamente la función de buena cámara para llevar de viaje y a todos los sitios, pequeña y compacta y sin preocuparte de que te caiga, se moje....para mí perfecta.

Haben die Kamera zum Schnorcheln und Tauchen gekauft. Erfüllt alle Voraussetzungen, die man dazu braucht. Handlich ( nicht schön ),robust und vor allem dicht, was man ja nicht von allen Pseudo-Unterwasserkameras behaupten kann. Wir sind sehr zufrieden und können sie nur empfehlen.
