Pirate Ship Wooden 3D Model Ship White Sail by Toysmith

This project requires the assistance of an adult with some wood working experience. The place (Toysmith) I purchased it should not be used to order it. The ad as described is: Pirate Ship Wooden 3D Model 2 Ships Black Sails/White Sails by Toysmith. I only received one of the two. Inside the package you have the choice of installing White or Black sails; You do not receive two ships.All in all it was a fun project for me and my grandson, the pieces do require a small amount of sanding (sandpaper was included) before attempting to fit togeather; some require more sanding than the others.Have fun, enjoy!Bill

Very tedious and time consuming to assemble requires a second pair of hands to attach sides but it's very authentic. Use small amounts of wood glue to hold joints together it it will fall apart. Really wanted black sails but Amazon only had white. Jerrys Toys helped with that! He gets 5 stars product gets 4 due to assembly time.

Do not buy! This puzzle is impossible to put together. Please stop making it. I would like to have my money back! Do not buy this product.

Received only one ship when Amazon clearly states the following: Build Two 16" long Wooden Replica Pirate Ship 3D Puzzles The Puzzles are made of 3mm Thick wood with a printed coating to simulate realistic detailing. Includes real cloth sails and paper figures. The set includes two pirate ships, one with black sails and the other one with white sails. Ideal for kids to play pirtates for hours and hours!

There is no way most kids (if not all) will be able to put this together. Even with adult assistance it's horrible. Terrible instructions, pieces that don't fit together or break with the pressure required to put them together. This thing is atrocious in every conceivable way. Don't waste your money and more importantly your time!

This is great to keep kids busy its just needs more readable instructions. We struggle trying to figure out the pieces.

After reading the other reviews, I almost returned this pirate ship to the store I (impulse) bought it at without even opening it, but I finally decided, what the heck, why not give it a try. Three hours later, I have a complete pirate ship! Which would not stand up to being dropped, played with, or probably even a breeze, but it is together.First: No, this is absolutely not for kids. The 5+ on the box, refers, I would guess, to the fact that it is probably not dangerous for children 5 and up to work on it. But children -- possibly even tweens -- will not be able to complete this by themselves.Second: No, in some cases, the pieces do not fit easily together.Third: You might not want to punch all of the pieces out of the wood, like I did, as I learned that just because connector pieces look to be identical, they really aren't, and a few millimeters here, a few millimeters there really do make a difference when trying to assemble this thing.Fourth: the hardest part is absolutely trying to bend the wood around the frame of the ship. The only way I was able to get it to work was to attach the front together with the connector, get that attached to the ship, and then bend both sides around the frame of the ship at the same time. From there you'll be able to attach the rear connector, and then everything should stay in place.One of my sails did not fit in the given slot, so it's pretty much balanced in there, and one of the ribs of the ship refused to stay in its slot so... it's not in its slot. But other than that, I have a pirate ship! And it kept me busy for a few hours, which was all I was really looking for.
