Extremely easy setup, works as advertised
After buying similar devices that didn't work (you can see my review of the Netgear Universal WN3000RP Wi-Fi Range Extender), I gave the TP-Link a try. It was extremely easy to setup. I would say that I had the unit mounted, configured (easy wizard), and tested within 15 minutes. I am slightly techie, but not very handy, so most of that was just mounting the device :)I have already recommended this to friends, and I would recommend it for anyone who has a lot of space needed to connect over wifi. My condo is narrow, over 100 ft from front window (main Wifi Router location) to rear exit. The wifi has to travel through at least 5 walls. I simply located a point about 2/3 the way, and it propagated the wifi signal to every corner of the home.It allows a single sign on to the main SSID in the home, so no wrangling with multiple passwords. The Netgear device wanted me to change the security configuration, and device level authentication, and at the end of the day it still didn't work. I'll stick with TP-Link from now on.

Two for two on this item
I've bought two of these, one in the older, boxy white-cased version, and another in the pictured curvy and darker-cased version. Both units work well. I installed one in tandem with a TP-LINK Wireless N300 router, the other with a Belkin Wireless N150 router. Installation with the TP-LINK router was a snap using the WPS button on the router and allowing the extender to automatically configure itself. With the Belkin, WPS would not work and required me to connect the extender to my desktop computer for configuration. I blame this mostly on the Belkin router, which was purchased without my consultation and would not have been my first choice. This is an excellent item for a very good price, highly recommended.

Works, then loses host conection.
10/6/13:The Extender is now working great after I changed the LAN IP address mode from DHCP to STATIC. I can now give it 4 stars again. Maybe I will jump it to 5 if things hold up.10/1/13: The Extender works great for a while until there is nothing connected through it and then it loses connection to the host after a time and will never re-connect until it is power cycled. It puts out a good signal but loses internet access. The Ping Watchdog is no help. I fear it will have to go back.9/18/13: I bought the WA830re range extender and a TP-LINK TL-WDR3600 Wireless N600 Dual Band Router, Gigabit, 2.4GHz 300Mbps+5Ghz 300Mbps, 2 USB port, Wireless On/Off Switch router together and set them up together. The router is working just fine, no setup issues. When I setup the extender I tried to use the Method #1 procedure with the push button but that did not work so I set it up manually. It would appear to be working but not getting through to the main router gateway. I refined my thinking after re-re-re reading the sidebar instructions in the Extender client pages, finally realizing the Extender needs the same SSID as the host router and the same gateway IP address. I also updated the firmware for the new WDR3600. I got all my devices working through the Extender, 5 laptops, a desktop, 3 tablets, 2 smartphones and a SONY wireless BluRay/Internet player. I setup the Extender to use the SmartIP(DHCP) instead of a static IP so the IP address changes sometimes so I have to look in the host router DHCP Client list for "unknown" and use that IP address if I want to check statistics. I also discovered it is a good idea to turn on the Ping Watch Dog under System Tools. Extender "pings" the host IP address that you enter and if it gets no response the Extender will reboot itself. I think it needs to do this whenever the host router does a reboot. I had a situation where both routers where working but the Extender could not reach the Internet. A power cycle reboot fixed it right up. With the new WDR3600 and this Extender capable of Gigabit Lan, Dual Band wireless and 300 Mbs (good luck with that)my wireless coverage is the best yet. It was 11 years ago to the day when I bought an SMC Barricade 802.11b 11 Mbs wireless router that barely reached halfway across my 40 foot house. Now I get a good signal anywhere. This is also my fourth use of a range extender and it is clearly the best. I am giving four stars because like all the WiFi routers and access points I have setup this one has the same style of sometimes confusing and impenetrable configuration instructions.

Great Range Extender
The TP-Link WA830RE Wireless N Range Extender does just what it says -- it extends the range of your Wireless Router. I initially ordered one of these to extend the range of my wireless router to an area of my house that was only receiving two bars on my computer. Once I set the Ranger Extender up, which was extremely easy, my desktop and my wife's laptop started receiving the full five bars wireless single strength. My own laptop at the other end of the house was not receiving a strong signal either, so I ordered a second TL-WA830RE range extender and the wireless signal immediately went to the full five bars as soon as I set up the range extender. If you are not receiving the full strength of your wireless signal, you need to purchase this range extender. Reasonable price and quick shipment from the seller using Amazon.com.

Drops Internet at least once a day and needs power reset to connect again.
Have this connected to a TP-Link WR1043ND router wirelessly. The 1043ND has worked flawlessly for a year and is an excellent router. The WA830RE, not so much. It drops the internet connection at least once a day and I have to turn it off/on to get it to reconnect. It was easy to set up, with the push of a button, to my WR1043. I have searched the net trying to find a solution and found a lot of people having the same problem. I could not find anyone that had actually got a solution to the problem. I thought I had it fixed by setting it to ping my router every couple of minutes in order to keep it busy during the night which is generally when it loses connection. But, it lost connection again last night. With the Ping turned on, it is down to 1 reset per day now, but this is unacceptable. I have tried every different combination of settings that is possible, to no avail. I hate to have to go thru the problem of sending back to Amazon since it is not their problem. But, it doesn't work. I know TP-Link is aware of this issue since folks have been reporting it since it was released. But there has been no firmware revision since this V2 version was released in March 2012. So I imagine it must be a hardware and not a software issue.

Recomendable.

Good wifi router
But it does get crazy (need reboot) as others after a long multi-connection use. I am sure for home usage is perfect though, really strong signal.
