UPDATE on 5/13: I reached out to Sparkel directly to replace my defective lid, they responded promptly and mailed a new lid to replace the defective one at no cost. Very satisfied.I LOVE my sparkel machine, ordered two extra bottles so we could have backup carbonated water at the ready in the fridge. The bottle that came with the machine and one of the two extra bottles I ordered keep the water carbonated for several days. So Handy! Alas, one of the two bottle that came in the two pack of extra bottles I ordered does not properly hold a seal. After taking the bottle off the machine you can hear a slight leak of air pressure from the pressure valve at the top of the one bottle. Within an hour or so the bottle with the air leak is flat and contains no carbonation. Alas, I didn't realize this immediately. By the time I noticed the problem, I was past the return date. So sad :( Can't justify buying two new bottles to replace one that doesn't work. Be sure to check your bottles for this problem promptly after receipt.

I love my Sparkel carbonation system! These bottles work great and my latest purchase of them looks like they updated the molds (from the one I got with the machine) to have the top lid gasket seal better/stay in place. The only thing that is a little annoying is when the bottle "sweats" from the humidity in the air and then pools in the lower groove between the bottle and the lower seal. When you go to drink it if you are not careful it will dribble the collected condensation onto you from that groove. Eliminating this gap would be a great improvement; I do not know if this limitation is due to the injection molding process but would be a great improvement if changed. All around still very happy with this system.

I like the Sparkel Machine, the bottles wear out after a year depending on the water and how carbonated you make your drinks. The seals gave out on my bottle after a year. The fact you have to buy two replacement bottles and that they are just over-priced does not make me happy. Initially, I planned to sell my machine and the sparkel bubble mixture packets until I found out there was NO market for them.So, I eventually admitted defeat and bought the replacement package. When I do run out of the mixture I will probably sell or donate my Sparkel to charity

1/26/24 - after nearly 2 years of fairly consistent use I can say that I still love my Sparkel. Yes, it can be finicky, but customer service has been great with providing help and the trouble-shooting manual is great. I would still buy again if needed. The bottle issue still exists but again doesn’t change my overall view of the product.Original Review: I love my Sparkel and use it just about every day - needed some bottle to increase my 'stock' of water in the fridge. The only thing I don't like about these bottles is the intermittent leak from the bottom. Even without any pressure, they seem to leak from the seal. It's doesn't effect the ability to maintain the pressure, and it's only water so it's not life shattering, but it is a bit annoying. Even after removing the bottom and reseating it, it is hit-or-miss on the leaking. They are, however, very sturdy and do the job that is expected so I just knocked 1 star for the intermittent leaking.

Much better bottles! The bottom is much wider than their old ones so they dont leak as much. I have two machines and very much recommend this brand. I dont have the hassle of CO tanks and clean up is easy. It doesnt take up much counter space and the reservoir can last for over a week. My only complaint is the noise. It is REALLY loud.

1 of the bottles works fine, the other either has a faulty bottom lid or has a defect on the bottom threads. It leaks through a gap on the bottom even if sitting upright and undisturbed. Left a mess in my fridge. Tried retightening several times and it still leaks. Paying this amount of money for 1 working bottle is absurd.

We love the Sparkel system. But the old bottles had a design flaw of some sort so that they stopped holding pressure after being used for a few months. Recently, we ordered new bottles and these work great - at least so far. Apparently, Sparkel was aware of the problem - see many online complaints- and redesigned the bottles. In particular, the bottom of the new bottles is different from the original ones. But Sparkel does not tell us what they did, which is not entirely honest. Also, they do not sell replacement parts for the bottles or machine. Parts such as O-rings inevitably wear out and Sparkel should offer replacement parts. Otherwise, it's a great Idea and overall we're happy with it.
