KINGJIM A4 Synthetic Leather Clipboard Black

This is easily the best covered clipboard I have ever used. It is sturdy, slim, and light. Unlike many other covered clipboards, it lays *completely* flat--regardless of whether the cover is closed, open, or opened all the way to the back.The build quality is impeccable:- Both covers are hard enough to write and draw against.- The hinge that connects the covers is a reinforced fabric that doesn't tear or weaken with use- The clip is unobtrusive and strong. It lays flush with the cover when closed (unless it's holding a lot of paper).- The fabric on the inside of the cover has a textured grip that keeps items in the pocket from sliding around.- It looks and feels very professional. You can take it anywhere without arousing comment (except perhaps "that is an amazing clipboard").As an artist, I use clipboards with loose-leaf paper (it's cheaper than sketchbooks, and I'm less likely to treat individual pages as "precious"). This clipboard is functionally superb for that purpose, even over other slim covered clipboards. The "leather" backing is hard enough to draw against, but there is just enough give to keep your pencil marks from picking up texture when drawing on a single sheet. The cover swings all the way back to lay flat behind the board (and reinforce it). The fabric hinge is brilliant because you can open the clipboard quickly without stressing the covers--you just silently flip it open and can be drawing within the second.

Have to agree this is a great and well made clipboard and worth waiting for the ship from Japan. The folio style clipboard is one of my main tools for work and to be honest there's not much choice in the US between the cheap plastic/vinyl covered cardboard and the sturdier but obviously bulkier metal ones.The best and most unique feature of this clipboard is the nylon lining that is used for the inner pocket and also the spine - this means the cover can fold back on itself completely flat. No more cracked spines, instead a super slim silhouette, open or closed, made from durable material - exactly what I was looking for.

Good but when I carry in my briefcase next to a non-flat object, it creates impressions in the pleather.

Almost exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, the clip does not hold as well as I would like; I like having loose paper in the clip, and it often slips out. Still, it works better than any folding clipboard I've been able to find since my five year old folio fell apart. Its best feature is the cloth binding that allows it to fold over nicely and neatly and lie flat without any worries.

This will the best clipboard you ever used. I've personally gone through many cheap as well as expensive clipboards in my lifetime and this one beat them all. It has a cover and is super very easy to fold over and has a premium feel to it. I was very impressed with the quality and just the presence of it. You won't be disappointed. The only thing is that you have to wait for them to ship without tracking all the way from Japan so it took about 2-3 weeks to arrive here at the States. Anyways, it's worth the wait and I love it. I'm sure you'll have the same feeling once you see it. Hope this helps.

It appears black in the image. It's half black and half brown. It's sturdy, but the wrong color for me.

I've gone through a lot of folder clipboards. The quality and utility of this clipboard is unrivaled. I like how it's not bulky with synthetic padding; nor does it have loose stitching, smelly chemical residue, or loose rivets. The seem is constructed so it folds back easily. Fits the rest of the world's standard A4 size best (is a bit long for the US's 8.5x11 sizes, but works fine). It's hard to find this quality in big box stores. A good gift idea.

Absolutely love this purchase. I am a student enrolled full time and use this for every single class. I place 30 or more pieces of blank notebook paper into the clip and take notes. My only complaint is the folder pocket being a little lose, and when you fold it over your papers kind of dangle out. The clip itself is pretty strong and will hold single sheets of paper although leaving an indentation where it is clipped. (Nothing terrible just a few dots) Worth purchase as a student.

It took three weeks or so to get this product but it was worth it. I have never seen a clip board made of this good quality.I am very please with my purchase.

Overall, it's a decent clipboard with a good quality clasp system. Aesthetically, I could do without the reflective nature of the board (it makes one feel a bit pompous). Additinally, the material has begun to wear at the edges after only three weeks of daily use (I.e., to and from school). It's a tough call as to say whether this product is indeed worth the extra $17 vs it's $11 counterparts (e.g., plastic c-Line models).

A little pricey but well worth the extra few bucks. Great quality. Now my coworkers respect me and think I'm super smart.
