Good for the price
I bought this a week ago and it runs pretty well on windows. No need to install any software onto the system or laptop it has some built in software just run it and you will get some picture downloading software into the digital keychain. Its pretty easy to plug in and easy to disconnect. Has a long battery life and pictures are pretty clear when you have a close up pic. The long shot pictures are a little blurred. This is pretty good to watch your loved ones on the go. It also has some features like auto on/off, delete, clock settings, LCD contrast. I like it a lot. Its like a portable digital photo frame :) Fun to use and people love it ask me all the time where i bought it. Thanks coby for a good product!

Does not work
This is a terrible product. It doesn't work the way it is supposed to. It won't turn on unless its plugged in usb. Its a key chain it should not be plugged in. Set up is difficult and tech support doesn't respond.

Great product
For people who are hard to buy for, this makes a great and inexpensive gift. We gave them to our dads for Father's Day full of pictures of our children and them with our children. We had gotten our mothers Palbums (see palbums.com) for Mother's Day, and since these were techie versions of those, it went over really well with our dads. Now they have a cool way to show off pictures of their grandkids to their buddies and co-workers.They were easy to use, you just plug them into your computer with the USB cord that is included and the software pops up on the screen. You can pick up to 60 pictures, which is quite a lot for this little gadget. The only thing I didn't like was that it puts the pictures in the device in the order that you place them in the software. The software won't allow you to arrange the photos in a particular order after you've chosen the ones you want. So if you are wanting to put them in chronilogical order or something and you forget to put one in at a certain spot, you are out of luck unless you redo it all up to that point. Otherwise, the product is a fantastic buy.

Pretty good for a gift
I've read from others that the Coby digital key chain can be difficult to use, but I don't think that's the case. On windows 7, I did have to plug the unit in a couple of times before it was recognized, but after that it always works. There is built in software that allows you to crop images to fit the digital screen, and it is required that you does so, it is unavoidable. This is good, since the screen is so small that minor details can get lost, especially in high contrast images. The photo manager really does not take too long to learn, so it's not a problem. For people not used to exploring programs, possibly in my parents generation, help may be required to get photo's on and off the device. As a gift idea, filling the device with photo's of family or places is easy, and goes over pretty well (holds about 60 pictures). The battery life is long enough that you can have it go for 3-4 hours, or at least that's my average. The price is good, since it's cheap enough to get a few for people, and also cheap enough that it softens the negatives of the unit. There are also a few options in the key chain, such as auto-scrolling images in a variety of increments, a timer which turns the unit on and off at a specific time of day (in military time), a digital clock feature, and so on. The overall design is pretty clean, which is why I choose this digital keychain over others, since it does not have logos on the front. The buttons on the top of the unit, while sticking out a bit, are not easy to accidentally push. So, some of the downsides. The device apparently can not be charged without a PC. I have not tried a USB charger, since I can't find mine. The photo manager is some what annoying, but manageable. The design of the unit itself makes it easy for the device to freely flip around while walking, if your keys are worn on a clip, or if you clip the device to your pants (the clip is just big enough to clip onto a jeans belt loop), then the device can end up flipping over and obscure the screen. The back should have been flat, not rounded. A note for people who can not find their photos: Some photo types are not recognized. You may need to use IrfanView or another free program to convert photo types if it's not in JPEG or BMP format. You should also consider making a folder or two in your Documents folder (Windows) just for coby photos, and saved, cropped photos.Overall, I think that given it's price, I would recommend the Coby digital key chain to others, especially as a quick easy gift if filled with photos.

Coby tiny digital picture frame.
It's really, really portable. So, if the pictures are tiny, you got something for it. The device is nearly feature free. The images must fit the screen. There's no zoom or pan. And, the device is really cheap. It's billed as a keychain device. However, no case is supplied, and your keys would scratch the plastic screen pretty much instantly. My advice, take the keychain off. It comes off easily.Despite being a USB device, you can't just plug it in and have it mount as a file system. You must use the supplied software. Supplied software supports Mac and Windows. There is no Linux support. This is a deal breaker for Linux geeks. The supplied software is so-so for Windows. It's a little quirky. My first attempt resulted in zero images loaded onto the device. You must fill up a queue and then upload them all at once. The software scales the images, and lets you crop them if they aren't the right aspect ratio. However, i found it better to get the aspect ratio right elsewhere first. The other downside is that having to use proprietary software can limit the life of the device. The company could go out of business, the next version of Windows or MacOS could be incompatible, etc. Perhaps it's cheap enough, and you don't care. There's a slide show mode, and the rate is settable.I'd rather it didn't show the image number on the images. There are few enough pixels as it is.I bought mine to give away as a gift to a deserving Windows user. But i've changed my mind, and will get her something she actually needs. This isn't a five star review.

It’s a very old product
The product is unusable. It requires a format of the device before you can use it. When you attempt the format windows cannot complete it for some reason. I suspect this product is defective as it was made in 2008, so 15yrs ago. The device software comes on a disk that isn’t compatible with most computers. Windows XP and Vista only. I’m really disappointed because for the money spent I thought this would work. Will be returning for a refund.

Flimsy case.
The casing is cheap quality. Looks fragile. However, it delivers what it promises; pictures on your keychain. Stores more then enough photos for my needs. If you are a pic-alothic then something with more memory might be in order. Overall, it gets the job done.

Handhabung ok - Haltbarkeit naja
